Great comfy cozy game, just have a few small wishlist items:
1. Matching cosmetic colors. I'm a little OCD about this, the items are cool and all style-wise, but the colors don't match up between tops, bottoms, etc.
2. More cosmetics in general.
3. More spirit animals and skins!
4. Much more furniture and room options, feels pretty bare there.

Definitely needs more content and as others have complained the bosses feel really restricting, but still fun overall!

I mean... it's a survival game. I like survival games, so I'm enjoying it. Some of the common gripes are already being addressed, so it shows the devs are listening to players, something many dev companies could learn from. If you use the ol' dollar per hour played math to say if it's good or not, I'm fairly sure I will get my $30 out of it and then some. I'm planning to take my time, not rush content, which is how I typically play this genre.

Overall, I'd say if you have the extra funds or need something to play right now, grab it. If you're on the fence and/or funds are tight for you, maybe focus another game for the moment and revisit Nightingale later.

Edit: Oh, and btw, I'm below min specs (barely) sitting on a GTX 970 still. Everything else meets or exceeds the min. That said, no crashes for me so far, been pretty stable. I have to play on the absolute lowest settings and only get like 30 FPS, but to me that's still playable having been on budget PCs my entire time gaming.

Huge Pokenerd here. Here's the thing: any monster catching game will always face accusations of being too similar to Pokemon and Nintendo/Game Freak gonna come after them. With 1025 mons now, Nintendo/GF itself started running out of original ideas generations ago and had to resort to some pretty terrible designs. I feel Palworld does a good enough job setting itself apart from Pokemon. Are there some similarities? Yes. I saw one that I called "thunder Garchomp" because it looks that similar to Garchomp. It's not, though. Similar does not equal rip off and won't hold up legally.

As for the game itself, it combined two of my favorite types of game: survival and monster-catcher. It is heavy into the survival aspect, though easy to pick up and settings can be so far dumbed down it removes any challenge of survival. There is very little story, so without the survival aspects keeping you busy you'd run out of stuff to do rather quickly. The map is pretty big, so lots of exploration to do. I like how flight exists but is also limited by stamina making the world not shrink so much when you get your first flying mount.

Overall I'd say it's a buy now, I wouldn't wait around on it. It can only improve from here.

r.VolumetricCloud 0 in console (~ key) to get better fps - you're welcome. :3

As for my review of the game itself... It's Ark. I have a love/hate relationship with the original. Nearly 5k hours later, here I am hitting the nostalgia button as I enter ASA and begin the beach bob story all over again. Blah blah blah poor optimization, we know. Still better than when ASE released and my brand new 970 couldn't run that well at the time. Now I'm running ASA on it (which is below min specs), and with the above setting and low everything else at least it's playable, which was not the case for ASE on release.

Gameplay is Ark. For those who may not have played the original and are looking at ASA, I would say it's kinda like slamming yourself against a wall, and even though that hurts a lot it's a pretty cool wall, so you continue the cycle even though it hurts more and more as you keep going. It is an abusive relationship. It will break you down. Then... it will build you back up.

My major complaint right now is how Nitrado has exclusive rights to servers and we don't know how long that will last for. That's some straight BS yo.

Game is actually a unique concept on the Poke-like type. So far really enjoying it - it's challenging, but doesn't feel impossible (and that can be tweaked to your liking). The music is nice so far. It has been a joy running into and capturing new monsters while exploring.
