Ignore the recent (~11/10/15) reviews. But, if you read them, try to find one that a) doesn't review the game based on the reviewer's system's performance (including bugs) and b) doesn't sound like a hipster-hates-the-mainstream rant with or without much love for the retro-FO iterations or other, probably indie, similarly set games. I couldn't find a single negative review that didn't fall into one of these two categories.

This is the first FO that actually grabs me and makes me want to play it. The story is more intriguing than any of the previous entries and involves and is about your character, from the very beginning. I'm not that far in, but it's obvious that BGS is trying to get away from the bland storytelling full of obligatory post-nuclear cliches of prior FO iterations.

If you're a TES fan who's just not been grabbed by FO, this is the FO entry for you. It has a very TES-y vibe to it, which has been missing on all previous FO titles. I wasn't a fan of FONV at all, and I know a lot weren't of FO fans weren't and favored FO3 more. I tend to agree, but there were some improvements in FONV. So, picture FO3 implemented some of those betterment changes from FONV, and then kind of melded gameplay, NPCs, and story and world depth from Skyrim, and you have pretty much what FO4 feels like.

If that doesn't sound like something you'd like playing, by all means, give it a pass. But, if you're a TES (particularly Oblivion and Skyrim) fan who wants to like Fallout, like me, and just hasn't been able to, I'd definitely Wishlist Fallout 4. I wasn't planning on buying it until 2016, but it was given to me as a birthday gift, and I'm very pleased that it was.

I'm running bordeless window on Ultra at 1080, i7, 12GB, GTX675M 2GB and I'm getting solid 40-45fps. I have yet to encounter a single bug other than FO4 failing to detect the (new drivers as of 11/9) GPU on initial load and setting everything to low. I reset to Ultra, changed the res back to 1080 on borderless, closed, reopened, and ran without a hitch and exited without a hitch. I strongly suggest negative reviewers with adequate PCs seek assistance in the game's hub since I'm barely over minspec and not seeing any of the lag, fps drops, crashes, etc. that they're describing.

Just gets better with mods.
