Been a while since this game was out and it's dead as can be with the game only being able to be bought by purchasing RE3 so no one'll read this, but this and most of the Remakes still burn my pp to this day so hopefully CAPCOM reads this.

Both RE3 and Resistance disappointed me on launch, and still disappoint me to this day which is impressive.

When you mentioned your 4v1 DBD clone they laughed in your face, then you made it. Guess what? They're still laughing.
So, maybe it's time to finally bring it back home and remake Outbreak. What do you say, CAPCOM?

DBD Clone is not what I wanted to be thinking of when it came to a cooperative Resident Evil experience. This was an interesting idea, but it was incredibly unoptimized (not in graphics, mind you), half-baked, and left to the wayside when players of course got bored with the gameplay loop being in these nicely detailed but overly linear levels, and that timer being absolutely the worst thing in history compared to the 'Viral Gauge' you had to deal with back in 2003. Don't even get me started on all the microtransactions, hackers, and lagswitchers that invaded the game and hacker Masterminds upon realizing the P2P connection, immediately ending matches when they wished. If they had just one Dedicated Server with anticheat (NOT DENUVO FFS) I promise them the longevity of the community would've been substantial enough to merit more from this game.
But even the new fans didn't like it, and the old fans absolutely hated it. Almost like it was certainly fated to fail.
Who did they make this game for again?

The detail in gameplay AND story on Outbreak (A LITERAL SPINOFF FROM 2002) compared to this nonsense is insane, and if you ain't gonna use the RE Engine correctly, then you shouldn't have used it at all. As it seems to be only good for reusing assets from literally every other game starting from 7, with the horrible zed grab mechanics from RE2 and 3, and the abysmal "melee" combat from all of the remakes and new games in general, if you wanted to see more copy-paste, just check out RE:Verse.

Now, I'm not saying you should get a PS2 emulator and emulate Outbreak, but you should get a PS2 emulator and emulate Outbreak to know what I mean.
For God's sake man, you can't even bash a door down with a "melee" weapon in this game, or even hold the door to stop zombies or Masterminds from getting in, and no matter what I can't stop getting bit, even with Tyrone's Mighty Foot. I remember a feature distinctly in Outbreak, and the originals, is if you were quick enough mashing the buttons, you shoved em off when they grabbed. You didn't get bit, just scratched. In Outbreak, if you needed to get through a door, didn't have enough time to find the key, you could bash it with your shoulder or with a weapon for increased damage. If you were in an area that had mission requirements to be met and zeds were trying to break in, you could hold the door closed to buy an extra minute or two for everyone to be situated, ready to leave or handle threats.

This is the most streamlined Resident Evil to date, but literally encapsulating the worst parts of the new RE Engine and the Remakes in general, and is actually overshadowed by a streamlined game 20 years old from the PS2 era that's still functionally encapsulating the best parts of old Resident Evil.

I want the original person(s) who designed this game, Umbrella Corps, Verse, and pitched them to the upper management at CAPCOM to be forced to play all the old Resident Evils until they realize what franchise they're SUPPOSED to be working on. Either that, or send them to work for Behaviour or 505 so they can finally work on their dream game, Dead By Daylight. This right here was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess, and it is just ONE of the multiplayer-only stains on this company.

Outbreak wasn't even multiplayer-only, that's how bad those stains are.

TL;DR:
It's not fun.
This, Verse, and Umbrella Corps proved only one thing for CAPCOM, that Resident Evil should stay single-player only. Which if you'd seen their prior attempts (Outbreak 1&2, RE5, RE6, Revelations 1&2, Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles) you'd know that's simply false. Let's all agree to the fact that, multiplayer-only titles with no fun attached or upkeep is a death sentence for your game, and a pretty big zit on your reputation.
Not even worth during a sale, even when it first launched back in 2020. If you got it for free you still got gypped -2/10

This is what happened after DOOM dommed Postal in that one-night stand.

Holy ♥♥♥♥ the soundtrack is absolutely insane, complements the new Alice In Goreland style and story very well.
Quick, fast-paced action with never-ending viscera and bangers. Only gripes I have is that this is a spin-off, and tad bit short.

worthy of your ten dollars, especially if you add in 6 more to get Paradise Lost.

it's just like Postal 1 but in 3D

Cursed unfinished game from cursed devs who aren't the original creators. Well it got patched, but you know how putting lipstick on a pig goes, I'm glad they're still doing what they can. It's now mostly fixed, and achievable. The only drawbacks being that some odd bugs still pop up, it's missing First Person (I will never forgive Akella for this), and "Health" Pipes (this too).

I pray that RWS got my dollar, unlikely, and have hired the unhinged people fixing this game, also unlikely.

If Akella got my dollar, they can keep it, I don't want it anywhere near me.
