Good game! Best co-op shooter experience I've had since Left 4 Dead.

if you want every menu telling you that you could, in fact, be spending more money right now, and a game that generally does not respect your time whatsoever, go right ahead.
if you manage to stomach that thanks to years of being inundated with gaas slop designed to exploit whales, (and also get past some of the rocky early-game stuff from before they figured out how to write), there's some pretty decent storywriting and performances for an mmo about space ninjas. also you run around doing flips and ♥♥♥♥. every so often you run into something that the team clearly just thought was cool and wanted to stick in the game for fun. sometimes it's well-implemented and fun, like the janky ass hoverboard or the giant bone robot and other times it's just kinda there, like the shmup missions.
ostensibly this is a stealth game but after a couple hours you can kinda just go around bullet jumping and pressing the kill-everything-in-the-room button.

I don't generally get into metroidvania style games, especially not mapless ones. I tend to have trouble remembering all the tools I have at my disposal and the all places I've been to and need to be going.
Thankfully, I don't really have these problems in the same way as I do a game like Hollow Knight.
As far as movement is concerned, I ran into some hitches with some commands having similar inputs to others, but for the most part moving through levels is buttery smooth, and more importantly, it feels pretty alright from the start and starts feeling good around an hour in when you have some more of your tools.

In absence of a map, I do think this game could have maybe used a reminder of the missing key locations on the menu screen, at least appearing after you've reached the top of the tower and read the stelae to either side of the boss door. I had to backtrack to the tower twice in my playthrough just to check which maps the keys were in. I don't know if this is just against the ethos of the game's design but it'd be helpful for someone like me.

Every time you think this is the coolest ♥♥♥♥ you've played, they go and one-up themselves in the next episode.
Maybe one of the best shooters you'll ever play.
I'm legit marking out after beating 4-4 right now so this review is written a little hastily, BUT THE GAME IS GOOD AND YOU SHOULD PLAY IT.

Gorgeous and cozy. The only way I could imagine this being better would be to have a way to save the final map, or even better, a timelapse of the map being made. :-)

won a giveaway of the ultimate edition a few years ago, since then i've spent over 270 hours working on campaigns and playing with friends. i backed the kickstarter for the upcoming 3rd release of fantasy grounds that looks to move to a new engine, and i'm looking forward to it.
though maybe i'd advise you don't buy into the "ultimate" tier until after the new release comes out, because it's a separate product.
