Allow me to get straight to the point: Hades is the culmination of Supergiant's 10 years of experience in video game design. It feels like the best things from Bastion, Transistor and Pyre were taken, refined and put into Hades. You'll be doing yourself a massive disservice by not getting this game, so get it while you can and get ready for an awesome experience once the 1.0 update drops.Like, seriously, this game is just THAT good, please get it.

I've played Spiral Knights for a long time now. Longer than what my playtime says, because I also played the game on Newgrounds. I was there at the beginning when the only thing available were arcades, Tortodrones were actual minibosses and SEGA was still publishing the game. So now, what can I say about the game and keep it short and sweet for you?
How about this: over the course of the game's life, Grey Havens has made Spiral Knights into the ultimate grindfest, devoid of any enjoyment but full of frustration due to heavily relying on RNG.
So let me point out the worst things to happen to game, all for the sake of Grey Havens wanting you to give them your money faster:
> Removal of Mist Energy - While you only got 100 of it daily and needed Crystal Energy to craft higher ranked gear as well, having that free energy meant that you had some relief when crafting, or that you could freely spend it on Energy Gates at the Arcade. Its removal essentially reinforce grinding for crowns or taking the easy way out and buy Energy with IRL money.
> Orbs of Alchemy - Short and simply, Orbs of Alchemy halted progression throughout the game, most noticeably when you have to do Hall of Heroes missions.
> Heat Crystals - These are like the Orbs of Alchemy, but worse. Much, much worse. Because they not only hinder what is meant to be a fluid leveling system but, because of their rarity, depending on the amount you have and on what level your gear is at, it won't even justify getting higher rank gear. For example, a 4-star piece of gear at lvl 10 is EQUALLY as effective as its 5-star upgrade AT LVL 7. And considering that you need to max level 4-star gear to rank it up to 5-star, the system's design ends up completely broken.
The only thing justifying the game staying up is the Auction House, and even then you have to be extremely cautious, since some hardcore traders have taken to use alt accounts to bid on the main's offers, thus inflating the prices and ensuring that anyone else who bids will have to pay a very high price. And, you know, that's illegal.
You want to play the game for the TF2 hat? That's fine, that's all it's worth for nowadays tbh. Because otherwise, you're not going to have fun for very long.

Even in normal, it gave me a run for my money at times, leaving me frustrated even.
But man, even though I, at the time of writing this review, have only played 5 hours, that was time well spent on a visually stunning, fun and eccentric Metroidvania. I don't know if I should have played the other Momodora games in order, but I'll definitely invest money into rdein's previous and future projects. Thank you very much for this work of art.

People like to talk about Boreframe and Didney 2 as if it were a rivalry for the ages, and the latter is better. Well, lemme ask you something buster...
Does Commander Zoinks of the Vanguard let you eat your enemies whole, only to then regurgitate them, just so you can do it all over again and turn into a boulder? Didn't think so.

It's all fun and games until you're forced to face 3 Magma Worms and 4 Colossal Titans at the same time.
Although it's technically still fun if you're playing Engineer, but at that point, you just want to put the game out of its misery given how sorry you feel.

I had a ton of fun of the original Auto Chess gamemode on the Dota 2 client, though it still had its flaws like heavy dependence on RNG, even though that's what makes up the so-called MABA genre.
Much to my surprise, Underlords has actually managed to tone down on the RNG, especially by allowing you to choose between items and class/race talents after a neutral wave ends, instead of having items drop at complete random from the neutrals themselves. Funnily enough, there's also a mechanic that was implemented with the purpose of shortening the games, where you would be deducted extra points (Rounds 1-9: 0; Rounds 10-19: 1 per round; Rounds 20-29: 2 per round), seeing as the Auto Chess games also took quite a bit.
Of course, there are still quite a few problems, the biggest one being the mobile version which, upon trying out, felt slow as all heck. The biggest problem, for me at least, was how slow it ran: knowing that a battle, once it starts, becomes Computer vs Computer, I'm able to say that the game itself runs just fine, but the visuals can't keep up. And I can say for sure, it's not because of the phone. So hopefully that'l be fixed in the future. As for people pointing out excessive time consumption, I suppose that's fair; Valve could make the deduction system more unforgiving on the mobile, if that's possible.
With all that being said, is this a fun and enjoyable game? Yes, quite honestly. It's clearly not for everyone, but those who are interested in the least will be welcomed with a pleasant experience.

I'm always getting chased by a block of cement, a necrophiliac, a guy called Radical Larry and a white supremacist.
11/10 would nuke the facility about a hundred more times.

For any of you who are questioning yourselves on whether or not you should buy this game, let me give my short opinion, since I am a man of few words:
This game is not a refined game, and it is graphically demanding and there may still be a few problems that need fixing. HOWEVER, be mindful that the game is enjoyable, all of the mechanics are there and work really well. There is more content than what meets the eye, there are side quests AND, most of all, there's replay value.
This is a game worth the price it's asking for and worth your time.

An alternative for Team Fortress 2 while failing to deliver the same or better kind of experience and lacking accurate precision in the development of the game.
If rage is your name and you want something that was once called a copy of TF2, than this is the kind of game for you.
