I agree with what the other negative reviews say here. This game is ridiculously over-hyped. That isn't to say that I didn't enjoy the ride. I did. It is a good looking game and the story is interesting. I will admit that I will probably have to read the wiki to completely understand what the hell happened. One thing that I will touch upon is that the vending machines are too over-priced. I think I was 3/4ths the way through the game before I was able to purchase a vigur upgrade. What is that about? I do like how right at the start of the game you encounter a vigur vending machine that has some upgrades for $1400 as if to say “hey ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you're never going to be able to purchase this”. Very frustrating.

Space Marine is a shallow hack-and-slash, and I loved it. Granted, I'm a sucker for the Warhammer 40,000 universe. I enjoy the atmosphere and world that the game creates. If you are looking for some really indepth action/rpg game like Mass Effect, go play Mass Effect. Also, don't plan on this being a long game. I played some of the multiplayer and completed the main campaign, and I have only logged 13 hours. That should give you a good idea of length. If its on sale for a good price, and you enjoy the Warhammer 40k universe, I recommend it.

After playing a ton of Empire Total War and Shogun 2 Total War, this game just does not compare. I had played a bunch of this game back when it was released, and I loved it. Compared to more contemporary Total War games it just does not hold up. So many of the game mechanics are frustrating. It will make you yell at the screen. Things like moving troops around during a battle is handled so much better in Shogun 2 that you are going to be at a complete loss as to why they didn't do it sooner and how did you have march your armies north against Gaul in the past.

This review is more for Fall of the Samurai but the system won't allow me to put it under Fall of the Samurai because I don't have any hours logged. Of course all my hours are logged under Shogun 2 because you access Fall of the Samurai in the Shogun 2 launch screen. I digress though.

This game is fantastic. Like all total war games, the initial release is buggy but the current condition is stable. I think the game mechanics have been improved from Empire greatly. I like how cannons actually do damage to infantry units now. I like the selection of modern and traditional units. One thing I don't like is the change to the special units. Right when I thought I understood how to use my spies, etc. in the base game, Fall of the Samurai changes it all up. I pretty much just focus on using the foreign veteran to train and recuit my troops. Overall, if you like strategy games or have enjoyed total war games in the past you can't go wrong with Fall of the Samurai.

I have played many Command & Conquer games. Look, this one stinks. It's just a mess. Granted, I did not log a lot of hours into it. For the time I did invest I can say that the mechanics suck. I really enjoyed Command & Conquer 3 so I suggest checking that one out instead.

I really, really wanted to like this game. I thought it was going to be like Fallout 3 but with zombies. After seeing the trailer, I was totally pumped. Well, it stinks. The controls are clunky and the missions are boring. The game does have its style, but I guess it doesn't appeal to me as much as I thought it would. I would rather do another playthrough of Fallout New Vegas or Borderlands 2 before returning to Dead Island.

I do not have a lot of time to play video games. With that said, I cannot spend 20 minutes walking around trying to get into a battle. Then when I reach it I'm killed because the lag is so bad all I have is a slide show. There are much better shooters out there than this pay-to-win game.
