If you want to experiance one of the greatest shotguns (firepower, reload, sound effect) in any FPS, then this is the game for you!

Also, one of my biggest praises for this game is how well it paces itself. Some games will give you everything up front very quickly. The weapons, armor, gadgets, enemy types, etc... But Doom 3 has a clever way of setting up each level so masterfully that you just have to pause every so often and smile at the Developers and Story Leads skills. The game plays so smooth from start to finish. Kudos for how submersive this game can be too. Best played straight through. Enjoy some great use of dark lighting. Trust the flashlight.

This is one that would be worty of a remaster.

The start of it all for one of the best PC Franchises ever. One of the best run n' gun shooters out there if not THE BEST. I can't recall how much I played this game when it first came out. Something about the replay value based on sheer fun alone is that kept bringing me back. Everything was memorable about this game. The weapons, music, level design, and of course, the enemies were all spectacular!

Get. This. Game.

Despite the name, its a game that doesn't take itself too seriously as you soon find out on even the first level.

I remember playing this when it first came out. Back when we actually went to the store
to purchase PC games. I enjoyed every level, weapon, enemy, and just overall fun this game had to offer in it's quite silly delivery.

If you are looking for a great soon-to-be classic line of chaotic run n' gun shooters then this is by far one of the best in the genre. Be sure to check out the other SS games which are great additions to own.

Excellent and well polished game!
Although there is some slight hand-holding along the way (in the beginning chapters) it does a good job as more of an extended tutorial system that I noticed eases up as the game progresses. A must for Castlevania fans and anyone looking for a fun combat enthused action adventure with not too much exploration.

**For those reviews complaining about the fixed camera system; I suspect they haven't really played the first DMC, or any Onimusha game for that matter... Or even Ninja Gaiden Black. All great action adventure games that all have a fixed camera perspective. I never really considered this a flaw and more so one less mechanic to worry about. And if you've played any of the above mentioned games then you'll have no problem picking up this one**

The combat is great! Most notably the block/dodge/counter mechanics that allow you to keep your focus meter stacked.
It borrows most of the staple themes that we see in these types of games including simple button command prompts.

Do yourself a favor and just pick this one up :)

I'm so glad that this game went on sale. Including the sequal. I'll never get tired of hearing "For the Overlord!"
