To say this game is a great taste of what's to come in the full game is an understatement. This could be sold as a full game itself. The movement and level design and animation are all so good. Already one of the best 3D platformers I've played in the modern era. (though this is best played with the Retro graphics settings) Hugely impressed and kind of scared of how good the full game could be. There are some minor bugs, but that couldn't dissuade me from throwing myself into this. Might write more later, but for now I just want to play it again and see what shenanigans I can get up to.

If you're on the fence, it's free, somehow! Even messing around early on is a good time if you find yourself vibing with the game's feel.

so I backed this game after being blown away by the demo and then basically tuned out after that so I could see it in it's full form without too much prior knowledge. wow this game is good, and I still recognize some parts of that demo in the full version, which is cool, but it's definitely a very different game now that said demo would no longer do justice to. honestly inspiring design ethos stuff here, and it looks and sounds great too!

still digging, but it's been so much already, and a kind of testament to what a team can make with careful and thorough consideration of what's come before and since your inspirations.

a really good roguelike that doesn't force you to grind endlessly to get what it's about

unwilling to stop at only a few core sets of rules, and unwilling to force you to contend with them all simultaneously

largely threadbare characterization that succeeds in spite of and because of those limitations

lovely art and music, neither of which needed to go that hard

the best random number generator might just be a six-sided dice actually

didn't need expansion-like updates, but has them anyway

really good puzzles with a really deceptive demeanor

was so difficult and that its sequel was effectively a tutorial for the original game

does all this with only a handful of "gimmicks" and fully playable on the average phone without compromising the ease of its controls and interface

it used to be my favorite 3D platformer on PC

looked really nice and shiny to me for a good while, shininess is fully intact as far as I can tell

had a rather fun story, expressive voice acting, and a charming affect without saying much of anything

was good to play and controlled competently

very committed to delivering the brand message of "fun"

unapologetically marinated in the sauce of Y2K-era cartoons, games, franchise branding, and a certain game that also starred an interesting looking italian guy who is known for making incomprehensibly pained facial expressions

mostly breezy and fun-loving if you don't care about scores and collectibles, merciless and provoking to ends I've yet to fully experience myself if you do

incredibly high effort art and animation for something that's supposed to look "bad" to people who are boring

I can't really write anything about it better than the game's tagline itself: "a hostile interpretation of the immersive sim, where nothing is planned, and everything works"

this is an accomplishment to be celebrated and feared

not finished yet, but I still want to come back

probably the queerest game I've played, and it doesn't even use terms like "gay", "trans", "bi", etc., or really even comment on that "subtext" (like, it's not very subtle, but it also isn't interested in entertaining the notion that queerness Must be Included for a Reason)

almost annoyed by how much I've enjoyed this so far (played and 100%-ed the main game on another platform)
