As a massive fan of Robocop 1&2 (and to some extent even 3) this game was an absolute pleasure to play, I can't wait to experience it again in the future on a NG+ play through.

The story, side missions and most especially the dense and immersive exploitable areas that have been crafted are the standouts of this game, take time to look around to see the small details.

It feels like what you'd expect a Robocop game should feel like and the NPCs really back that up with their conversations and observations when wandering through Detroit or the PD.

You can tell the people who made this game genuinely cared about Robocop - the lore. characters and even the references to the films you'll find semi-regularly are all done well.

My only real complaints are I wish we got another mission or two teaming with Lewis or at least another couple interactions and during the final third of the game it's prone to crashes in my experience, however I experienced no real notable bugs or glitches.

Any self respecting Robocop fan needs to play this.

Early Access Review
As of typing this I'm pretty close to the current 'endgame', a mostly good experience so far - looking forward to more being released. I never really got into PoE1 but other than maybe 1-2 other games it's the only ARPG that's drawn me in since Diablo 3.

Most of the bosses look cool and have fun mechanics to learn however it seems like they have a bit too much health too often and a few hit boxes feel inconsistent which results in a portion of bosses feeling like a chore which is a real shame. It also doesn't help if there are lots of mobs surrounding you the dodge mechanic becomes useless and every now and then you can't even walk.

Performance is fine unless the screen is full of mobs and AOE attacks usually so depends on your plays style, though in the towns it can drop pretty bad when players are gathered.

I can see it growing into a great game but there's a long way to go, that's for sure. Only purchase this if you understand it's going to be in early access for a while yet and in turn it isn't always going to be a smooth ride especially for a game this wide in scope and as in depth as it is when it comes to builds and etc.

(Btw bonus points for giving 300 coins of the in-game currency for purchasing any EA edition, helps a great deal when sorting out the stash after some hours of gameplay)

Edit: Campaign is excellent and worth playing through multiple times even with just 3 Acts out of the intended 6 but the endgame is pretty boring.

Pure slop, go play Project Zomboid or Dying Light instead

Being forced to log in is annoying sure, but you can't even unlock Steam achievements unless you have all the Xbox stuff installed and enabled on your OS

Once you enable & tinker with the immersive settings (including UI) and ramp up the difficulty it becomes one of the most easily accessible and enjoyable 'military sims' out there. For that reason alone I recommended Breakpoint.

By no means is it a perfect game, but a lot has been done to fix the wrongs that were initially there (even adding Steam achievements on 16/12/24 after development/support ended years ago), plus it goes on sale regularly for a very low price.

Finished in about 30 mins but I got to defeat the globalist scum, when on sale it's 100% worth a buy

Visually and audibly it's one of the best experiences I've had in a while, everything flows really well together in that sense and each level is just the right length in that it doesn't overstay it's welcome

Great atmosphere, cosy feelings of nostalgia and pretty much every level feels unique with the characters complimenting them well too

One of the greatest FPS games of all time - with great aesthetics and an excellent soundtrack to match

Clear effort was made here to create a definitive version of Quake 2 even going as far as the devs digging into the ID archives for unfinished map data to include in this version, cementing itself as being what a remaster should be as a complete remastered experience

I could write an essay about WWE 2K24 as someone who has played these games pretty consistently for about 25 years because there's lots to love but plenty to hate as well, however put simply the game has lots of small improvements and tons to offer in general to wrestling fans, but even then that's a push and that's only because you get used to how broken these games are after some years and the frustration eventually becomes almost part of the expected experience

most importantly though, core gameplay elements are just straight up broken it feels like or at best no effort was really put into it, those being -

  • maybe most heinous of all for a wrestling game is the unbelievably inconsistent reversal system, it's hard to explain unless you play a lot of the game (and others to compare) but I'm partially convinced it just stops allowing you to reverse moves (excluding moments of obvious debuffs) to make the game appear more difficult because they can't program decent AI to deliver a real challenge

  • which leads me to my next main gripe which has existed for like 15 years at this point, these games are just too easy even on Legend difficulty 90% of the time - you can adjust the advanced difficulty sliders all you want but you are essentially just making the AI reverse more moves which just isn't fun, the AI should be getting more aggressive and logical with it's approach not cheap illusions of difficulty and don't get me started on multi-man matches this year they always usually turn into handicap matches at points (usually 2 AI) against you for some reason unless you create a lot of space

  • the most consistently annoying thing is the pin system, it requires no skill after a certain point in a match and just comes down to luck which would be fine after a super finisher 20 mins into a match but not an arm stomp - that type of thing not only ruins an otherwise a great match but makes you feel like you've just wasted your time

losing in these games isn't an issue for most of us because we're trying to usually just put on the most fun match we can, but when those said matches are ruined it gets so tiresome

  • The community creations loads like molasses so if you plan on setting up a CAW roster you may set aside literally an entire day to load pages, deal with server crashes and other bs - this is something I'm still questioning whether I'll fully get around to doing this year

other notes:

showcase mode is unfathomably boring, universe mode is still criminally unloved, myRise seems mediocre at best and myFaction is an insult

all that being said I'm sure I'll still keep playing it because as a wrestling fan it's the only real choice I have until WWE hires a studio that actually cares about how their product translates to a video game, plus every now and then you do get some absolute bangers while playing where everything feels like it does just work - which maybe makes it all so much more frustrating because you can see what could be so great

look up all the good stuff this game has to offer because it's certainly there and I love lots of it but I can't honestly recommend the game unless you are invested into wrestling and understand the crap you have to deal with when playing a 2K WWE game

edit/FYI: I recently discovered in the gameplay balance settings there is actually an advanced slider tab for the pin minigame that I had never seen before, this improves the situation a little however nonetheless it shouldn't be down to the player to fine tune these settings in most cases

Like a Dragon was phenomenal but impressively Infinite Wealth is an improvement in almost every single area except maybe the main story (however, still great)

stop overthinking and reading the reviews, just play both

Thank you very Michio, RGG
