Early Access Review
Saurian... Where do I begin. This was a near-personal game to me as I connected with it so well. As you may have gathered from my profile picture alone, I love dinosaurs, and this was right up my alley.

Though in EA and very, very buggy as of the time of this review ( 30/11/2017) It still proved some great content and a realistic view into the life of Dakotaraptor. (More playables added soon: In order: Pachycephalosaurus, Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus rex then Ankylosaurus and Anzu)

Positives:
-Feels great, every minute movement and turn (Except Jumping, ocassionally) just feels amazing.
-Animation, Everything in this game is animated beautifully, the turns, jumps and idle just blend perfectly with the environment and background.

-Graphics, AMAZING! For an indie game with a relatively small team, Saurian looks F*cking gorgeous. Everything from the smallest leaf to the Tyrannosaurus rex had countless hours to make it perfect. Couple that with some pretty great lighting and it looks amazing on the higher end settings.

-Unique gameplay elements, I as of writing this, have only played Dakotaraptor, but even in that, it has elements like biting the throat for a faster kill, a risky but worthwhile hunting tactic, scents which, in a unique way, tell you so much about what's around, predator and prey, as well as not causing massive frame drops in other games it's featured in (The Isle, particularly, also pretty good game, if not grindy), and RPR (Raptor Prey Restraint). RPR is a basically a juvenile to super-adult way to pounce on an animal, pin them down or grapple onto them, and start eating them alive. While not unique to Saurian, Primal Carnage comes to mind, it's never been taken to this extreme before. It's a very difficult maneuver for animals larger or stronger then you, but if you perfect it you have a way to hunt basically anything within reason. There's also species based sight and hearing senses. Sight is a cone that in some animals, like Tyrannosaurus, lets them see large animals from almost literally across the map if it's flat terrain, but doesn't let large animals see smaller ones, and hearing, which is a radius aroudn the whole animal, also depending on what it is.

-AI Behavior, AI behavior is a very controverstial thing in Saurian. It's very buggy currently in game, but when it works, it WORKS! The animals behave and react very well to stimuli in the environment, but some pathing issues lead us to the negatives...
Negatives:
-AI Behavior, Two main issues arise when using the AI, Pathing issues caused by some map changes, making some animals (noticably your Dakotaraptor parents) run into trees or have general issues getting around, like getting stuck in water, and the hitboxes. Some animals (Paleosinawa v Dakotaraptor Subadult and Adult for instance) just seem not to be able to hunt certain animals. This can be very frustrating when dependant on your parents, and in some ways even affect you in your later gameplay.

-Jumping. Jumping as of now is VERY VEEEERY buggy. It's also very hard to predict where you're going to land, as for juveniles and hatchlings it's a tiny jump, but for subadults and Adults, you can suddenly leap across mountains. It can also lag out and do a double-jump, the first a tiny one where you land, then you basically get slingshotted forward, throwing you off.

-Frame Drops, While actively being optomised all the time, something about this game just kills frames. Keep in mind I only have a mid-tier rig but it can still run most things very well, but for some reason even on medium graphics I get major lag drops when in heavily forested areas and sometimes just randomly. This impacts your success rate in RPR, as well as many other things.

In conclusion, I do believe the game is good enough to get a recommend from me. Just prepare for some EA bugs and fps ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from time to time.

The Hunter:Primal Is an Amazing outtake on hunting. Where you play as a pioneer sent down from space to 'cleanse' his permenant record of crime. With the dinosaurs being powerful and you being, well, weak. Its hard to survive at first. and teaming up to take down big game. It sets a semi-accurate example of what life would be like if humans were actually hunting dinosaurs.

Early Access Review
hello, Im daggerman here to write a review for well, The Stomping Land. I know this game has alot of hate but i still recomend it, yes, the update has been a bit overdue but its still coming out. so heres what i have to say: in this game your put in a island filled with dinosaurs, you need to survive, you can acheive this by using your tomahawk to collect wood and stone, make weapons or structures but... one of my fav features is the taming. yes thats right, you can tame dinosaurs, my lifelong dream is forfilled riding the back of a carnotaur through a forest, or taking out a styracosaur with this stigimoloch etc. and yes that may seem blunt and a waste of 25 bucks, but just remember this you haters: its still in alpha, sure there are bugs, sure an updates overdue, but overall this game can make almost anyone happy, AND one day youl regret all the bad comments you gave this game when your riding on the back of a trex with your friends. Daggerman out.

Well, Primal carnage. all i can say is... AWESOME! In this game your pitted together as dinosaur and human to face of to the death in awesome gamemodes, such as deathmatch and get to da chopper!, It is the scariest thing as a human to turn around and see a trex just charging at you roaring or going around a corner to see a spinosaur staring at you. It has a realistic feel to it as at the same time a video games fun logic and i just cant stop loving it. Overall I reccomend it if you like first person shooters or dinosaurs! And in this game you can kill a trex and be all like "prepare to be extinct... AGAIN!"
