How this game is monetized is a joke, but you already know about the shop and battle pass. Also, Namco is very aggressive with shutting down content creators who post any kind of mods for Tekken. This alone should be enough to stay away from their games forever. I got T8 since too many people posted great reviews at launch - well, I shouldn't have listened to any of them.

Just don't play T8 online. Tilting AF.
Online netcode is horrible. Can't set Wi-Fi filter, so have to manually decline all Wi-Fi opponents which is a huge waste of time. Too many times you get a 5 FPS experience even after game assures you connection is 5 bars. Players are also able to cheat by hitting screenshot button and introduce extra lag this way to make you drop your inputs.

As for the game itself - too much randomness everywhere. No way of telling when a hit will connect or not. Especially when one move interrupts another. Also, throws connect in a stupid way when you try to step them since Harada decided they should track 360 degrees. And there is no way of telling if a move is a high or mid by animation - gotta remember them all. Also have to remember all possible knowledge checks for all characters - when to duck, when to step, or sidewalk, and to which side. What can be punished and what can't. Good luck if you haven't played this series for 15 years. To get good you are expected to have insane memory and thousands of hours spent in practice. Honestly, this time is much better spent on getting job skills or other self improvement.

And if you decide - Ok, I'm gonna get good no matter what, then surprise - you can't lab characters if you didn't buy them, you can't use the hyped replay feature against Eddy if you don't want to buy this annoying character. Also, if you wish to train defense against several options - you can record them, but you can't save it for future. Every time you leave practice session it forgets what you've carefully recorded and you have to waste time doing it again.

If you own a second gaming device like a laptop or a Steam Deck, then beware that Harada decided that graphical settings should be synced between all devices, so you'll have to change them every time you run T8 from a different device. Set high settings on PC, low on Steam deck, then rinse and repeat.

Got the game to play with immersive collection of Skyrim mods. Everything was fine until ***** Bethesda decided to update it to a new version and broke everything as a result.

It's a great game, doesn't cost much, has everything even in the free version. I remember playing a lot of original UT game with bots (we had no internet at the time), and I loved the process. Here it is the same. I didn't even try online. Even single player experience is smooth and enjoyable.

PC verison of this game is abandoned by developers, while console versions got new characters and improved netcode. All of us who bought MKX are now completely screwed. Do not buy anything by NRS.

TLDR: I recommend this game to anyone who is sick of the lack of fighting games on PC.

The only other available games are SF4, GGXRD and a bunch of trash like abandonware MKX. SFV is 100% better than other games of the genre even in its current state. And it has a metacritic score lower than that of SF X Tekken. The gamers crowd is sure full of.. very interesting people.

I understand that it was released in beta state, this is a mistake by Capcom, because only the serious fighting players needed early access to prepare for tournaments. The correct way would've been to sell it as an early access (however I don't know if early access sales are possible on PS4, and they needed simultaneous launch obviously).

Right now the issues with the game are:

-the online ranked takes forever to find match and ragequitting is not punished (as of today)
-some people find the lack of single player modes disappointing, but those modes will come soon

If they fix online, then the game will be super good.
Right now I'm having a blast just playing in training mode vs max difficulty level PC opponent with everything set to "normal" (no replenishing bars).

First of all, 2k are incompetent, they offer some account registration option, then I click a link in email to verify it and it freezes my browser. This happens every time I try it. Then I do the same thing on my phone and it works, however it's a pain to create an account and to type password 2 times there, since it doesn't like any username I try. Don't know why do I even need to register, maybe it is optional and gives no value, but this just shows the level of their programmers.

The game itself is meh, just tried tutorial as a monster and it showed a pretty boring gameplay of hunting some tiny creatures who constantly run away in all directions. Abilities are nearly impossible to use and target. Playing as a human made more sense, but still not the best experience in FPS genre. Also the characters look and sound like they belong in a comedy cartoon, which is not good, here I would prefer something darker and more serious.

The game seems to be way worse than L4D. This is a common problem in game development these days - AAA projects only focus on graphics, while gameplay and story is done by clueless people.

There are three kinds of videogames - casual, competitive and hardcore. This game is hardcore. However, hardcore difficulty can be different.
One type of difficulty involves some training that can be helplful in a lot of different games once you've mastered it. For example, you learn to react faster, to shoot accurately, etc. This makes sense.
However, the other type of hardcore "difficulty" is a fake one - there is a boss or a sequence which requires specific inputs of commands from player, and the only way to progress is to learn this sequence. Learning this once won't provide any actual skill increase, because it is useless anywhere else (even within the same game).
You can guess which type of difficulty this game has. Yes, it is the bad one. So, I can't recommend it to anyone who wants to either have fun or learn some universal skills to get better at videogames. The best way to "play" this is watch some youtube video and enjoy the story.

This game is awesome, the greatest GTA clone that I enhoy way more than GTA 4. Just the fact that you can save game anywhere from menu instead of running to the appartment bed and watching ~30 seconds of animation beats GTA IMO. Also gameplay is way more dynamic and diverse. I think this game close to GTA: SA, but even more craziness and fun.

I used 'Gentlemen of the Row' mod from the start, so maybe vanilla is worse, but I love the modded version. Don't have any major problems with the controls or perfomance, so this console port is not the worst. The game does crash sometimes though, but I'm Ok with relaunching it once every 2-3 hours.

I've been kinda fed up with videogames for a very long time and usually got bored of playing anything after 1 hour, but this masterpiece made me play for 8 hours straight, this almost never happened before.
