Like others in the genre, you go in with a weapon swipe at some enemies and hope rng blesses you with a upgrade to build a run on. Where this game is different is what happens while playing as well as the progression system. During a run you can get shrines which buff you, corrupted shrines that buff the enemy and smuggler shrines which usually give you powerful items with some drawbacks.

Now the meta progression has changed and been evolved over time. First it was just unlocking skill. But now you can get mutations and evolutions, or even take the ability to push beyond the initial levels.

I haven't lost all my progress like others have with this game. So that doesn't effect my view on the game. I just know after almost 50 hours of played time I can see myself still playing more.

If you enjoy space, puzzle games or explosions. This game is for you. If you get this game, do yourself a favor and don't watch any videos explaining how to break apart the ships. Figure out the best way to do it your self. Because once things start clicking in your head it feels good.

For such an early version of this game, we still have a lot of play time. I can't wait to see what is in store for the future.

While Wolcen does have some issues and bugs right now. The devs have been pretty open about what is going on.

The story is pretty good overall and the voice acting and music is very good. The game is simple enough to understand how to get around and killing. But it's also very different from most aRPGs because of the active dodging. Compared to a majority of other action rpgs the skill tree is complex enough to provide a lot of build variety, but not too complex to scare you off (like PoE can). I feel like Wolcen is well worth the full $40 price tag, but if you have any concern because of the bugs than wait for a couple patches.

Elite Dangerous is the kind of game that has a lot of sides to it. My experience generally gravitated to the relaxing side, like a lot of others I suspect. Whether it ended being trade runs, missions boards for passengers/cargo or recently heading out mining. I've never tried too hard to do combat and I've only played on private servers.

The reason I play in private is because I just don't enjoy the pvp side of most games. What I want to do is experience different ships and fly around in space. Could Elite do with some other features? Absolutely! If they add in Atmospheric landings and being able to walk around our ships. That would be a really large edition. Especially if we could change seats and play with our friends inside the ship. I love the idea of being able to dock at a Coriolis station, hoping out of the ship and watching as all the other ships fly in for a landing.

Now that said, those two features aren't in. But if you're looking for something to sit back relax and explore. Based on my experience Elite has that. If you're looking for combat, it's probably best to read other reviews.
