Ghost Ship knows how to cultivate a healthy fanbase and is very generous about all of the free content and updates they add to this game. Hopefully other games follow this rare example of a fun game supported right with the players in mind.

Amazing game in basically all categories. The soundtrack is unique and catchy, the gameplay loop and hack n' slash style of combat are addicting and satisfying, and the art style is a treat for the eyes. I'm really fond of the story notes and character dialogue added after every run, it makes death and starting over something to look forward to instead of something to feel bad over. There is also the countless options of boons and powers, and a mix of weapons to make each run feel unique. Definitely game of the year material, but I just selfishly wish there were more levels, weapons, and enemies but hopefully there is DLC down the line. Just get this game, you won't regret it.

I was excited to play this game but unfortunately it's incredibly laggy and the frames fluctuate randomly between 60 and 30, then will just dip below 15 once the combat starts. Terrible optimization on good hardware, unplayable as it stands. Would not buy unless it's fixed.

This is a game that I've been keeping an eye on and finally decided to buy after watching some gameplay. It combines a charming DnD/ card game style with a simple but satisfying combat element, which is a clever idea and translated well into this game. The choose your own adventure style to some of the cards along with it's potential successes and failures are a fun addition and keeps playthroughs fresh as you never know what you're going to get, all the while unlocking even more cards to be played in future games. A warning though: if you are not into hack n' slash style combat you will be disappointed, which seems to be the only downside to this game for most, although I really don't mind. I highly recommend this game!
