The game starts on a positive not with great atmosphere and an interesting story. Alas, this does not last long. Atmoshpere goes away as we go from the America in 60s to generic boring alien ships/bases. And story quickly loses its positive qualities too. The gameplay, on the other hand, does not lose positive qualities. That's because it has none. With stupid AI, horrendous interface and boring shooting it's hard to force yourself to continue playing. The game manages to look both too short and too long at the same time. That's because developers attempted to comensate the small number of actual missions by prolonging each mission with long stretches of empty space where nothing happesn and huge amount of enemies when something does happen. The result is terrible.

The game becomes a bit boring after awhile due to the lack of various options, but before that it is a blast.

The game has a nice atmosphere and an interesting plot. The gameplay is fairly lackluster, being too linear and simple. And the stealth sections are horrendous. But the game worth a buy during sales.

The game has a very interesting premise, but fails its potential utterly. The gameplay fells clunky, unpolished and generally boring. The interface is not particularly good either. Oh, let's not forget the much praised dialog system. The dialogs themselves are not bad, characters are interesting and the story looks engaging. But the gameplaywise the system is a mess. Firstly, it's even worse than in Mass Effect, not giving you a slightest idea what your character is going to say. Secondly, the awful timer that does not allow to choose your dialog option carefully and thoughtfully. You see, The Walking Dead gave the example how a time limit in choosing a dialog response could be done properly. There you had plenty of time to choose your response for the most part. And in those cases where you had a very short time limit to choose it was done to give a feeling of intensity of a situation. Here, in Alpha Protocol, you always have a very tight time limit regardless of situation, which does not provide for player anything but constant irritation.
