So, this game is not exactly "easy" to get into. Arcane to some, bizarre and intimidating to others. The best thing about it is how little it cares though. The world itself is inspired by the ttrpgs of yore, the game is a roguelike science fantasy post apocalyptic journey with lore that puts things like Horizon zero dawn to shame. I also walked into a dungeon once and had a wizard explode my head. 10/425 skull fragments

So, for starters I just want to say I am an experienced DM in the TTRPG. This game feels like as close to a proper representation pf the pen and paper game that I have taken notes on it myself.

That is to say it has my dungeon master's stamp of approval. The story is fantastic and while I personally never use Faerun it is a wonderful world that if you look closely has as much whimsy as one piece. The whole game is a treat, but the combat and role play take center stage when the set pieces are done mesmerizing you.

I would give this game two doubloons and a racoon.

TL;DR: If youre looking for civ with a twist this is that and more.

Pros
- Fun to look at
- Fun to play
- Can create a ferret loving warrior culture
- takes the fundamentals of 4x and adds depth (literally)
- just one more turn applies

Cons
- I had performance issues but im not on a gaming specced laptop or desktop
- There is a lot of improvement overall but this is just like civ. The DLC's will breathe life into a game that is well aware of what it is competing against.

I have died forty times and been greeted with a naked man whose only purpose is to run away from things. I have built a house in an oasis surrounded by crocodiles and wont the staring contest. I have sacrificed a soul to open a door into the depths of insanity. Good game. Cool concept if you like Conan's world but arent a big fan of the movies and want something that feels more alive.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you could make a religion where every marriage is incestuous? i know i have, especially after getting off ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Anyways, the overall gameplay is a great blend of strategy and rpg with a decent RNG for situational adaptations. I know i made a joke using the religion creation, but if youre a writer or a fan of alternate history this game is for you.

Do you like History? Do you like moderately complicated systems in your games? then you will probably enjoy Civilization 6, I have been playing the series since Civlization revolution came out on the Iphone 4. The Best part has to be the level of replayability. There is a reason its known as a "Just one more Turn game" I would like to think civilization 6 keeps that tradition going.
