Amigdala shows what happens if you just "turn the VR switch on" in an FPS game. You get motion sickness as soon as you try to move or turn your character. You get a menu that is glued to your face. You get players that quit after 5 minutes and leave a bad review because they know it's going to be barf-city if they keep playing.

Nice short movie-type thing.

Quite a cool little city-sim. As of writing, it still has quite a few quirks that don't seem well explained, such as as building height limitations and challenge levels that have some buildings unlocked but not the resources required to run them. But it has been good for 4.5 hours of fun.

This is incredible! There's such attention to detail, and opportunities to explore that are actually rewarded. The first 90 minutes is a series of exploration sections that I'm going to have to revisit because there were just so many paths I missed. It later gets a bit more directed as the story develops, but the environments continue to have a jaw-dropping level of detail. I don't think I found a single dead end - every side path seems to lead to something interesting, even if it's not what you're looking for.

The office building section at the start may seem a bit slow. It does a good job of showing you that there are many paths to explore and lots of little nooks to investigate, but you may need to speed-run it if you're getting impatient. Just remember that it's only about 15 minutes long and then you get to the exploration section that makes INFRA really shine.

Cool setting, cool concept, reasonably good level design. Unfortunately the gameplay is quite poor, making it difficult to enjoy the good bits.

Enemies have no pathfinding, guns don't seem to have much variety, the gunplay is slow-paced and doesn't feel like it involves any skill, I couldn't even tell what increasing my stats was doing. Most of this game is just walking around cautiously, hoping that if an enemy sees you it gets stuck on a corner and can't shoot you.

It's worth a few dollars to try it out and soak in the novelty of the well-crafted ascii world, but I can't recommend it at its non-sale price.

If you enjoyed Blade Runner, Total Recall or Johnny Mnemonic, you'll probably like Technolust. It has incredible music and great environments that really make you feel like you're trapped in a 90s vision of a dystopian future.

Before playing this game, I've got to warn you: It's not action-packed (except in the arcade minigames), and it won't hold your hands. It's an exploration game, and while it's possible to sprint to the ending in relatively little time, you're going to have a lot more fun if you slow down and try everything in the environment. There's a reason the world is full of collectables, arcade games, TVs and advertising - Technolust is about getting you immersed, and it does an exceptional job at that.

It's the first first-person VR game I've played that hasn't given me sudden motion sickness, and there is even a "cloudwalk" mode that further reduced camera movement for when I felt a bit out of place.

Pretty awesome rendering of motion-captured people. This is just a tech demo, but if you're interested in computer graphics it's worth checking out. There's no gameplay - just a few minutes of character animation and dialogue.

Most other reviews mention the performance. It's worth noting that the performance is fine in the first 2 out of 4 demos - only the last 2 demos have issues. Thankfully the most interesting characters are in the 2 demos that have good performance.

I recommend you watch a Let's Play or come back when it's finished. It's gonna be a great game, but it's not there yet.

The first 2 hours of Survival Mode were fun, but then I hit a tech ceiling due to a lack of blueprints & missing resources. It can take 30+ minutes of searching to find a new blueprint or resource. When you're stuck with basic gear, this searching gets pretty boring and the new thing you unlock is usually completely underwhelming after putting so much effort in. According to the wiki, there's a lot of gear that you can find, but most of it has very specific locations in the ocean. Even with this knowledge, it's kind of tedious collecting gear.

It seems like they're planning to put more story in. When there's actually objectives and stuff to do in the world, it's gonna be a lot of fun for more than 2 hours.

OpenIV may be back, but Rockstar's new modding policy is garbage.

"Take-Two reserves the right to object to any third-party project, or to revise, revoke and/or withdraw this statement at any time in their own discretion."

Wtf? That's not a policy. That's not an apology. Modders put hundreds of hours into their art, and Rockstar/T2 won't even spend a few hours defining what is and isn't acceptable in a mod!

Nothing has changed. These companies are still prepared to sue their greatest fans for completely trivial reasons. Don't give them your money.

Completely engrossing. I wish there was more though. I spent a decent amount of time AFK, so my actual playtime is closer to 3 hours.

If you're into games that don't have guns or pickaxes, this one is definitely worth picking up.
