The coins don't target lead like on Two Crowns so no matter if you are walking or running the coins will miss you. This means running one direction allowing all the coins to drop, then turning around to pick them up. This alone is so irritating that I cannot stand this version of the game, going back to Two Crowns because they figured this out. Otherwise a few mechanics have been tweaked but overall it's the same basic game.

A 2D artillery game like STUG(2023), Worms W.M.D.(2016), Cannon Brawl(2014), Gunbound(2003), Pocket Tanks(2001), Scorched Earth(1991), ect... but not as polished. It needs a smoother UX with better flow so that you don't need to learn a bunch of independent hotkeys specific to that situation. I would recommend the other games in this genre depending on how far back you want to go.

It's Garry's Mod, the reputation speaks for itself.

Absolute classic, best TR game in my book. Captures her unhuman athleticism, the gun-fu play, her arsenal of gadgets and support network, her intelligence and creativity, the mystic of discovering ancient puzzles that happen to be working and reset for just her moment in time. It's got those classic Hollywood adventure moments in the interactive cutscenes, the clothing gets wet and dries (this was 2006 so impressive at the time), discovering a sword and using that as a weapon in a mission, time trials unlock codes to get those specific melee weapons (as well as an Easter egg sword), a mansion to unwind at if tired of the campaign. It's my favorite TR, gives this great adventure with a gun slinging hero in the booger woods but with a contingency plan and logistics network. The newer reboots really break away from this theme so I would just stop here and play anything back if you like this style of TR game.

Has more of a board game management feel to it than the previous MechWarrior titles which I like, it brings it back to its original style. The combat is fun, managing the heat is fun, there are enough components to allow many different styles of mechs(not having to optimize for PVP allows this), the weapons have pretty similar traits of the old games variants. You have to keep the damage low or face the consequences of repair. Time management is recommended as it plays like a dating sim at times where you have a time frame to get things done as another DLC mission might come up before you even finished the base vanilla Campaign. The co-op is great and better with the co-op unlocked mod though there is a strange bug where the clients will get their heat generation stuck on after a jump jet landing causing them to shut down infinitely. Not sure if this is base game or a bug with that mod but its something to consider, and easy fix is running a mech with no jump jets.

On the flip side Activision and Zipper Interactive did a lot better job with the creativity in the previous titles mission options. They had ones where you could sneak in with a light mech disguised in the enemy's camouflage and have to take out a target inside a building structure not even piloting a mech. Sometimes you could go steal a mech from the enemy and swap mechs out mid mission. The mechs legs adapted to the ground with IK the ankles would hold their rotation on the ground until it picked back up its leg. You could even trip over mechs if you came down on one at a strange angle. They even put jump jets on assault class mechs that probably shouldn't have them but body slamming something with a skyscraper on legs is pretty satisfying.

Nothing like this exists in MW5 the missions are basically reskinned; team deathmatch(sometimes with opposing artillery and sat relays that allow reinforcements, sometimes in a defensive way), target takedown(sometimes with teammates spread over multiple areas or just a single target), destroy objectives (sometimes everything, sometimes specific targets, sometimes with air strikes), then the hand crafted campaign mini missions. Even the little campaign chained missions with custom maps that aren't auto-generated will just have a combination of the basic game types and some dialog to add a story. The bar could be set so much higher but I am thankful for any new MechWarrior style games with slow vertical tanks.

Overall I'd get this game because firing up an old XP machine with a Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 and Creative Labs EAX is less convenient to experience the previous titles in their entirety though if you have the opportunity do it cause you will see how much more creative they were.

Living inside a Zane Grey novel hasn't been more fun. The game is too complex and deep to really even scratch the surface in this review. The interactions, the animations, the plot, small details, weapon handling, wildlife, characters, story, matinee plays, Easter eggs are all hand crafted and alive. The normal maps on the textures fade in and out as parts move to add even more depth. Let's just say this, according to Rockstar they had over 3,000 people who worked on this game over 8 years including 110 musicians and 1,200 mo-cap actors. It makes GTAV's plot look like it was a practice run. Just give it a shot there will be many playthroughs where you won't even have the same interactions with characters. I'm typically not interested in old west movies or books or themes in general but this game is just something else, absolutely love playing it and finding new things I missed. Maybe one day I'll actually make it to Tahiti.

I only play singleplayer didn't really have much fun in online mode.

Seems like a social chat meme generator with a horror aspect added on, not for me.

The devs are done and in it's current state I cannot recommend this game. They left 2 potential islands empty the NPC's are signposts, quests are typically listen to audio or read some text go interact with something. The robots walk on flat surfaces no matter the slope of the terrain so there is no IK blending anywhere. Sometimes on multiplayer clients will accidentally duplicate items when trying to transfer them from inventory to the ground leaving one in the inventory causing an overflow of duplicates. On the flip side the weather system is great, the sound propagation system is great, the weapons and weapon mods are fun, the motorcycles were a nice addition. I held on to this game with hopes it would get a final polish or the multiplayer would get fixed but they are done and have moved on.
