Nice XCOM sections. Cool minimalist art style. Tough decisions.

I don't know why people give this game such negative reviews. Specifically the content. Of course PD2 has more, its been around for 4 years. PD2 was just as bare as RAID is now. Give the game some time - its fun, the devs care, and the only ones to ♥♥♥♥ on it so far are toxic players.

I was going to write a long review, with an explanation in many categories - combat, story, choices, etc... So here's the short version.

I like that some new things were introduced (like settlements). Yes, Bethesda relies way too much on the modding community. But I'd rather have them create the foundation for gameplay elements, even if mods are needed to make them better. I actually like the faction situation in that they all have a purpose, belief system, different individuals, and somewhat of a reason for being the way they are. (Looking at you, BoS.) The ending is very conflicting and mostly based on personal preferences, but definitely has little effect on the world. The patrols and flags and ♥♥♥♥ are just an illusion because we don't actually change ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The whole father-son situation was actually pretty deep, and very conflicting, especially the Shaun's "gift." Combat...I like weapon modding, the combat is majorly improved (minus dumb AI), but that's pretty much the entire game. Minor choices, story is eh, factions are pretty cool but feel hollow.

Overall, I like the game has potential. but Bethesda has lost their way. The improvements are really just graphics and combat. Wide-audience, mainstream BS. Not recommended without modding.

Just...make a game with FO4's combat and visuals, FONV's everything, and FO1's and FO2's depth - story, choice, thought, and character structure.

Maybe the story is lazy. Maybe the characters are lazy. Vehicle control and combat is horrible. Accelerating in vehicles is usually slow for a second or two, and then shoots forward, or simply fires away full throttle even when tapping the keyboard. Turning starts slow for a moment, then suddenly and sharply turns. As for combat. random bull just happens all the time. For example, some enemies can take a couple shots to the chest, and a few to the legs. Any target who you are meant to knock down can only take ONE[b/] bullet before dying, even in the leg. If he's too far away, I can't shoot him in the leg so I can approach him.

Combat sucks, vehicle controls sucks. The game feels like it had inspiration and fire, but that fire died and something was thrown together and made real pretty.

Play if you like the thrill of living in danger, killing thousands of SWAT units, hitting the same bank over and over, listening to Bain not shutting up, fixing drills, and fixing drills.
