If you send me a friend request, but we don't have common friends, games, or any other interests, I'll assume you are a scammer. If we never interacted at all before in a game, on a discussion board, or anywhere else before, I'll assume the same. I have no alt accounts on Steam, and I almost never trade. That means "don't bother adding me for trading purposes".

If we used to be friends and I removed you, it's probably because I forgot who you were (possibly) after you changed your profile pic and/or your profile name. You can send me a request again if this is the case. You might need to remind me who you are and how we met, though, so keep that in mind.

I'm done with live service titles and games with thinly-veiled gambling mechanics. I no longer bother participating in open-ended grinding for items or achievements in games regardless of the game. If the gameplay is fun, I'll stick around. If not, I won't. Sunk cost be damned.

I don't tolerate bad business practices anymore either. Especially invasive anti-cheat and DRMs, and will blacklist publishers permanently without a second thought if I realize they are going down the "wrong" path or do something else that happens to be highly unsavory. I can stay disinterested longer than they can stay solvent, after all. I let go of FOMO a long time ago.
