I was surprised to discover that this was directed by Josef Fares (It Takes Two, Split Fiction) and decided to give it a try.

It ended up being a short and sweet adventure!

Been a huge fan of this franchise since the first installment. Taking things to VR was a fantastic choice and they did so fantastically!

This is a fantastically charming game that's equal parts beautiful and challenging. The combat mixed with a dynamic potion system is surprisingly engaging.

This was a fantastically-crafted game. The environments were gorgeous and the gameplay flowed nicely. All-in-all, it was a nice relaxing adventure that gave a nice change of pace from all the other hectic titles that I typically play.

Madfinger continually proves themselves to be a top-tier developer. Each major update they release significantly improves the games in multiple ways. The game plays, feels, and looks fantastic as of 0.3

Masterfully-crafted puzzles. Nothing too difficult but still provides a decent challenge that will trip you up from time-to-time. Love this franchise and this installment lives up to the previous titles spectacularly well!

Easily one of the most -- if not THE most -- creative game I have ever played!

I would say more but I wouldn't want to ruin the experience for anyone. All I'll say is I'll be shocked if this game doesn't win game of the year. Definitely in my top-10 list of all-time games I've played!

To begin, I gave this game a legitimate try. I thought the visuals (environments and spells) were spectacular. I thought the leveling was fun and didn't take an unreasonable amount of time. Dungeons were fun and challenging. World content was engaging.

So why am I giving it a downvote? Simple: the gearing system was the one thing I wasn't a fan of. It has pay-to-win embedded in it. Like most P2W models, you have the option to things for free....but the process is incredibly grindy. What specifically about gearing killed my desire for the game was the trait system. Unlocking and leveling traits relied heavily on the auction house, which -- for those who don't know -- operates on a currency that's obtained via real money.

Sure, you could sell traits and items you obtain but the cost to unlock/level will always outpace your ability to earn the currency needed.

Feels like an unfinished game.

I still remember back in 1996 where I spent countless hours playing the original Duke Nukem 3D and how much I absolutely loved the game. This game brings back some long forgotten nostalgia and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm currently working through all the episodes and looking forward to seeing the new content!
