Pros
1. Great reconstitution of ancient Greek structures, zones and personalities.
2. Plethora of zones to explore and activities to do.
3. Major improvement upon Assassin's Creed Origins' RPG elements.
4. Rewarding and well implemented secrets.
5. Amazing storyline and very interesting references/connections to the other Assassin's Creed games.

Cons
1. The level cap can easily be attained without even completing the story.
2. Poorly optimized, FPS is not constant.
3. Still not enough Animus-related/real world story elements (buy more than in Origins).
4. Microtransactions (although not required at all even for a full experience).

Micro-review
Assassin's Creed Odyssey tells the story of a young Spartan mercenary, whose family was tragically divided after his/her sibling was senteced to death due to a grim prophecy told by the Oracle of Delphi. Therefore, you struggle to reunite your family, finding out many secrets on the way through, both uplifting and devastating.
The action takes place in the ancient Greece, during the Peloponnesian War, which in game is implemented as a never ending conflict between the Athenians and the Spartans that goes on even when you are not playing. However, when you wish to get invloved in a conquest campaign or when you are required to do so, the warfare can either be waged on land or sea, depeding on the territory. Regarding combat, I am very pleased to see Assassin's Creed Black Flag naval warfare brought back in all its glory.
The game also takes a new approach to the RPG part by allowing you to choose between the two protagonist characters and by implementing a true equipment system with individual items that you can mix and match to your preference/playstyle.
I was amazed by the quality of the reconstitution of the ancient Greek world, with all its iconic landmarks and personalities, which, in my opinion, makes the atmosphere as genuine as possible and truly enjoyable.
Some really interesting connections and references to the other games in the series are being made throughout the story, elements that could become even more exciting by involving them in a much larger Animus-related storyline.
Even though the games allows you to start at "NIghtmare" difficulty, the level cap can easily be attained at about 60-70% story completion, leaving you with a lot of interesting and really enjoyable side-activities giving you no experience and less satisfaction upon completing.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a great game, no doubt, but it would have been even closer to perfection, if it had a better optimization, a better leveling path and some extra "mysterious" story elements.
