As someone who started playing Bethesda games with Skyrim, who didn't really get into New Vegas when it was still fresh before it was heralded as a beacon from the community as the best game by Bethesda/obsidian. Starfield is my new favorite Bethesda game above Skyrim. While most of my time was spent being derailed from a side quest to do another side quest, that isn't a flaw in my opinion as my ADHD brain always fires when I see a new activity pop up in the upper left. What is a flaw is the game's lack of an FOV slider, instead relying on me fiddling with my ini and also the green tint the game puts on everything giving me a headache, which can be modded out. The character creator is good, much prefer having sliders instead of the face tugger in both fallout 4 and 76, though the lack of RGB sliders for hair colors is a miss for me, hopefully a racemenu equivalent mod comes to starfield soon.

Game's good. What else is there to say?

As a forza horizon fan since the original on the 360, who has thousands of hours on the series, horizon 5 feels rushed to market, even almost 2 years after launch, which is a shame because the signs were there because playground is being stretched thin. Playground is stuck developing 2 games, one with an almost 8 year old engine that was designed for the Xbox one, while their technical partners at Turn 10 are developing a new one from scratch for forza motorsport 8. All the while fable is in development hell with a separate team on an entirely different engine unrelated to Forzatech. The state of Forza Horizon 5 is in a worse spot than FH4 ever was in despite what I believe could be the best racing game we've ever had if they didn't get completely destroyed. This game needed to be delayed until post fm8 in that engine. This game, and playground deserved better.

as someone who went into the game completely blind, with what i've played of it so far which is up to about chapter 3, the game is fun. The combat and movement feels fluid and the story is cheesy, which is something I really enjoy but seems to be one of the big downsides for most people. Knowing luminous's previous work with FFXV, I knew exactly what I was coming in to and that seems to be a big problem with the community. I've also seen many complaints about performance issues, running the latest nvidia driver, 528.24, the game runs at an average of 80 fps on a 3060ti at 1080p with no DLSS or FSR2, which are both options in the game. Even on steam deck, the game runs at 30 at the settings the game automatically sets itself to. If the game turns out bad, I'll edit this review with what I've learned.

Really fun game for real cheap, it's a true time vampire.
