The core gameplay is a fine twist on match-3 games but the metagame surrounding it absolutely ruins it with an economy that betrays the game's free-to-play roots by requiring you to grind out dozens of games to earn enough gold to purchase one-time use items. You'll get tired of the game long before you get anywhere close to earning enough gold to reach the higher levels.

The breadth of activities and ways of making money, the huge amounts of content, the relaxed atmosphere where you are unable to ever permanently miss anything and can play forever...this isn't a Harvest Moon clone, it's the game Harvest Moon dreams of being.

This game is such a mess that the developer gave up on fixing it and instead just patched in God Mode and Level Skip cheats so people could technically reach the end of the game. That's an almost impressive level of terribleness.

An awesome hybrid of card game and dungeon crawler, where the dungeones and encounters are determined by random playing cards while the fights themselves play out with Arkham Asylum-style combat arenas. Thanks to the clever unlock system and Endless mode there's a ton of content and you'll keep finding new reasons to play long after you've exhausted every single one of the Dealer's sarcastic zingers.

"I really wish Hotline Miami was slower and clunkier and had way more trial and error."

There's a Wilhelm Scream in the first five seconds of the game. That about says it all.

Big on cute, small on content.

Normally I'd feel bad about reviewing an Early Access title but if they were confident enough in the game to put it in the Humble Monthly Bundle then I figure they should also be confident enough in the game for people to judge it as it is at the price they're selling it for.

A decent premise for a roguelite twin-stick shooter that blows it by having a dozen different bad control schemes instead of one good one. The lack of any sort of persistent unlock system or progression makes the core gameplay being so dull and frustrating that much worse.

BAD: It's a bad port of a mobile game that was obviously made for touchscreen (to the point where the tutorial still uses illustrations of a finger dragging across a screen instead of a mouse cursor) and gets boring after a few levels.

GOOD: The stock western music they use for the title screen is the same one Spongebob Squarepants used once.
