My 115 hours on steam pales in comparison to the amount of time I have spent on Destiny 2 in the last year. I'm not big on shooters, but D2 has enough other things to keep me entertained.

Edit: I'll be honest, there were several times in the last year or so where I wanted to come back here and change my review to not recommended. It's not been a great 1.5, almost 2 years since Final Shape. The news yesterday that June 9th is it really hurts, especially since there's so much stuff we'll never get to see or never see again. Most of my friends had moved on from this game around the time of Final Shape, but I was always yearning for them to show me something to get me to play. I was always so easily sucked in to this game, in a way that I've yet to find in any other game. While I'm sure there will be a lot of D3 copium in the coming years, it's going to be weird not keeping an eye out for some Destiny news. Whatever went on in my life, Destiny was always there, troubled though it was. That's why It's not just a game to me, and I know it's not just a game for hundreds of thousands of others.

I'm not changing my review to not recommended, which sounds silly, seeing as this game won't have any more content updates. But if you've never touched it, I encourage you to give it a shot. It may be messy and well past its heyday, but it was special. I hope this game gets a more proper sendoff, be that in a sequel or some sort of classic/remaster, but for now, I'll treasure a few final days/weeks in the June 9th update, so my last memories of Destiny are not of pain, but of joy.

Nor will I tell you to go hate on marathon. Yes, I have a lot of anger at Bungie for what producing marathon has cost them as a whole, but that's not an excuse to bash another game for no reason. It's not a game for me, so I won't be playing it. I wish I could say anything different.

So long, Guardians!
