it was lovely game to play, with fantastic graphics and a nice design, especially the guns; they felt really nice to use. I would recommend giving this a try <3

Issues faced were lack of hand-holding, which is usually fine, but the fact the game has little sense of where you are meant to be going next makes it a lot more difficult than it needs to be. If you know what you are doing or where you are meant to be next, this game can be easily beaten in an hour, but due to this and other reasons such as ammo scarcity and awkward platforming, it took way longer than it should.

It's not a bad game, but it has some very unusual choices that make for a difficult fun experience; for example, 60% of your islands will be road due to them taking up an entire tile, or most buildings requiring a road before being able to be placed, or warehouses being tiny. Once you get into space too, it becomes a whole different form of micro-managing that's just not enjoyable.

It's also a very slow game to play and less "City Builder" compared to most titles in this genre, rather tedious, and kinda repetitive - it's exhausting.

This is honestly such a fun game, and the current DLC; Survivors of the Void, is so worth it - and the upcoming DLC has me incredibly excited for what's to come.

So much replayability, a vast and dedicated modding community, and a wonderful player base to connect with.

It was such a promising game to have brought and experienced from Kickstarter... but it is now dead in the water.

All social medias and Patreon ceased to function past 22nd August, 2019, and emailing them gets you nothing back.

Unnecessarily "Mostly Negative" Reviews vs Conclusive and Constructive Criticism

PAYDAY 3 is a nice breath of fresh air when compared to the wonderfully stitched-together game that was PAYDAY 2, with a lot of promise and setting high expectations, within the program, and through outside sources, such as news and media - however, PAYDAY 3's launch is pitiful and poor and certainly IS NOT worth it's pre-order OR "full release" price, but does not deserve such harsh reviews from so many people.

Many feel like they are jumping on the bandwagon, which is understandable considering how much hype PAYDAY 3 gave the community - where expectations don't meet reality.

When PAYDAY 2 first came out, it was a very dicey and rough experience, like many games, which will improve as time progresses, and it does need time in order to become a lovable game everyone expected, although, it does not excuse for where this sequel falls.

These are one of the games I wish I could leave as a 'Neutral' recommendation.

The game really needs polishing and reshaping into what it should have been, but as it stands, it's not as bad as the reviews make it out to be. They'll likely introduce and modify features to line with what the community enjoyed originally from PAYDAY 2, but as it stands, this appears to be a whole new game that has been shaped into the PAYDAY franchise.

The Positives
  • It's fairly fun and mirrors how PAYDAY 2 felt when it comes to heisting.
  • The graphics are real nice - a breath of fresh air.
  • Heists feel fun, and have some decent challenge.
  • Guns feel and sound powerful.
  • There is a lot less hand-holding during heists - such as POI outlines.
  • Moving citizens and bags are a lot smooth and easier.
  • Maps are larger, busier, and contain more depth.
  • Casing mode interactions have had a huge overhaul - lock picking, POI interacts, and exploring to name a few.
  • The UI feels fresh - however...

The Neutrals // Comments
  • ...it's very boxy. A forced perspective on modernising.
  • You're forced to create a Nebula account in order to play.
  • You gain money rather quickly. // The economy appears weirdly inflated.
  • Assaults are.. slow? They're not interesting and are fairly empty.
  • Difficulty is fake - the real difficulty comes from being overwhelmed.
  • You have to grind more to level up - it's been reworked in a weird way.

The Negatives
  • Matchmaking - it's not the worst, but it's far from good with sometimes long queue lengths...
  • ...and with that said; why do I have to queue to go solo?
  • Always online - you require an Internet connection to play.
  • High price for a shell of a game.
  • Despite functioning smoothly, it doesn't feel that smooth.
  • No Crimenet.
  • The AI sucks.
  • It crashes. Often. If it's not an Unreal Engine kick to desktop, it's a matchmaking or Nebula error.
  • Buying and modifying your guns and masks feels clunky and awkward.

It's honestly not that bad of a game so far and genuinely is worth a try, but as I mentioned above, the game has been ruined for the majority of people with how it's been released against the massive hype generated - and with the comparison of PAYDAY 2 against PAYDAY 3.

In the end, if you really don't like it, you can always request a refund!

Just play A Hat in Time, or actually play Banjo-Kazooie.

The game's end quality and entertainment value doesn't meet the hype during it's development as a successor to Banjo-Kazooie. 💔

Every time you die, you are forced to wait through a loading screen taking anywhere from 30 seconds to a full minute, making playing this game at a challenging difficulty slow, boring, and a chore. It's a beautiful game and I want to continue playing it until completing, but as it stands, this one thing really hurts it's reputation and my opinion on it.

I'm still currently playing this game, so this review will be updated later.

VRChat is not very inclusive towards the community and is more business orientated, thinking about their future profits and how to expand. They have been this way for a long time, and before tending to any significant problems or concerns of the community, they sought to add a monetisation model instead.

EAC not only impacts performance in an unnecessary way, it is also a big middle finger to the large majority of people, from those reliant on modifications to support their experiences online, such as VRC-CC for the hard of hearing or deaf, to those who want to ehnance their experience though quality of life modifications, such as XSOverlay and OVR.

Big Recommendation
Look at migrating to Neos or ChilloutVR as alternatives to VRChat.
