TL;DR - If you enjoy an easier Dark Souls (Nicknamed "Cute Souls"), Legend of Zelda, Outer Wilds, or other puzzle exploration games with combat, you may like this game.

I think the best way to describe this game is a mixture of Dark Souls and Legend of Zelda. You can't blindly hack at every enemy you see, you need to dodge and block certain attacks. There are fires you can rest at, respawning every enemy but giving you a checkpoint with refilled stats. Still easier than Dark Souls from what I've heard, nicknamed "Cute Souls"
However, one major thing you probably saw in the trailer is that the game is mostly in a fictional language you can't understand, making the learning process of the game's mechanics into a puzzle of sorts. The game gives you pages of the game's instruction manual as rewards for exploring, including maps, game mechanics, controls, tips and tricks, that sort of thing, sort of like in Outer Wilds if you've played that game. The game won't drag you by the hair to a unique gadget, then explain everything it does to you in a single dialogue box. You instead have to explore around, look on the map to see the gadget's location, then go out of your way to grab it. Once you have it, you have no clue what it does until you actually use it in battle, then you can make your own assumptions as to how it can be used effectively.
There's even some settings in the options menu for accessibility, I never messed with them myself, but they exist to possibly make the game easier for casual players or harder for Dark Souls enthusiasts if you wish.

Did I have a migraine for the first week or so playing this game? Yes.
Did I have fun getting the achievements? Mostly, yes!
Most of the levels in this game can be skipped or solved "incorrectly" simply by climbing around in the right way, and you can bunnyhop to gain a lot of speed. Sounds like a good speedrunner's game to me.
Only complaint I can think of is that some achievements take a *while* to complete, such as "Radio Silence" which requires you to throw all the radios off the "Factory" level. One of them is hidden behind a one-way portal, and if you accidentally go through the portal? You need to do *everything* before it again, assuming you are playing by yourself. And other achievements don't even have level names tied to them, meaning you have to either guess which level it comes from, or look up a guide.

Walked in, found a staircase, went full "Found VHS" mode with my recording, found a hand mixer monster, ran up the staircase like a coward since I was alone, then left in the diving bell.
Uploaded my video, downloaded to desktop. So far, can't give a solid rating since I barely played... but I can see the potential in being better than Lethal Company in some ways, since the game incentivizes "See that monster? Go touch it with this stick" dialogue for money instead of just laughs and research.

Early Access Review
Fun time with friends, especially if you are the coward of the group. Only complaint I can think of is that you don't get to keep anything except bestiary entries across runs (Such as the decorative furniture / suits), but I guess that would make it less of a roguelike would it?

I have played through this game once, and I'm gonna try to avoid spoilers as much as I can, but.
Here's a tip, before reaching the end of the game (You WILL know when it's about to occur) go into your Steam library and create a bunch of game shortcuts from some of the popular games you have like Fallout 4.
Only thing I can really say is "bad" about this game is the third phase of the third boss's "Hate" route, since it takes a while to get back into the actual fight and it is VERY easy to die there, but then again, I probably deserved it for being spiteful.

I like the different sounds that the resources make when being dug up with the terrain tool.

There's a little something for everyone in Terraria. You've got various difficulties such as the classic mode for casual or new players, expert for the veterans who already been through their first playthrough, and master mode for those masochists out there. Plus, there is even a Journey Mode for the truly casual players or builders that allows you to alter things about you or your world, such as godmode or enemy spawn rates, alongside the ability to "research" any object to get an infinite amount of said object.
There's building, exploration, bosses to fight, many furniture sets. It might get overwhelming, but take things one step at a time. You should be able to learn things using the game itself, such as the Guide NPC's "Crafting" menu, or the Bestiary tracking enemies you've slain.
Also, because of the random generation of your world, alongside two different "evil" biomes, four different classes, alongside the several game difficulties. The game is very replayable, similar to Minecraft. You might take the same steps to get to your final goal, but the way you perform said steps are different each time. Also, progression isn't forced to happen after a set time limit, you can take as long as you need... Well, until the evil biome spreads to your house.
On a sale, the game is $5, and the 4 pack to share with friends is 15$. I personally say that's a great deal if you do the "dollar an hour" treatment.

This game is difficult to review, anything and everything reviews like mine say may be a spoiler, even in the tiniest bit. But if you love reading, if you love to solve knowledge puzzles, if you love being a space camper / archaeologist, stop reading this review and get the game, it might be for you. Pro tip, keep a notepad next to you so you can write down how pieces of technology work, who you can talk to, or any possible shortcuts you've found, you will kick yourself if you forgot something vital to your success.

This game isn't about IF you can complete it with your skill, it's about HOW to complete the game with your knowledge. There will be a lot of reading, and a lot of puzzle solving based on the clues you've learnt. So connect the pieces on where your predecessors left off, learn how the solar system works around you, roast a few marshmallows, remember Newton's first law of motion, and check the autopilot's trajectory.

Yeesh, I am GLAD that I decided not to spoil myself on this DLC after doing so with the base game, because there are many things, including the reintroduced panic of "End Times" from the main game, puzzles that felt great to piece together into the final run, discovering shortcuts for later loops, and an ending which quite frankly hit me like a train. This DLC could've been its own Outer Wilds spin-off if it really wanted to. I must say this, however, you won't be using your ship much other than to get to the new content, and not actually exploring the new content like you would the Hourglass Twins or Brittle Hollow to locate specific landmarks.

This game really is a mixed bag, some mechanics people may like and others may dislike. For me however, I enjoyed the game since I think it has a unique mechanic, along with a nice message to go along with the mechanic. Some say that it isn't really worth the 20$ price tag for a 2-ish hour game, however they are forgetting things such as achievements, secret collectables, a challenge mode consisting of a limited number of grabs or jumps, and even an alternate ending hidden somewhere in the game. So even if you watched a youtuber play through the game you may be surprised on some things you may find throughout the game.

However, keep in mind this review is only my perspective on the game (pun intended) and not yours, so you decide what you want to do. Either play the game yourself, buy it on sale or not on sale, or watch a youtuber play the game. It is your choice to make.
