Excerpt from my post on r/patientgamers on Reddit:

What stands out the most after finishing the game is the polish, the animations and the art direction. The absolute lack of jank compared to modern games. It's like the developers thought of EVERYTHING the player might try to do. The story is pretty simple but the characters are memorable and have some development during the course of the game. The lore is moderately deep and Arkane have created a world that is thick with atmosphere and history. The enemies might not be the smartest bunch but it's fun figuring out ways to take them out without alerting anyone. I think what bothered me the most was the fact that you can open a door right in the face of an enemy and they won't notice.

Because of life stuff, I needed a good game that would run on a laptop with an Intel Iris XE GPU and Dishonored, being an old Unreal Engine 3 game, was perfect. I'm able to run it at 1600x900 high settings and it mostly stays around 60 fps. Apart from some aggressive texture LOD optimizations, it looks pretty damn good, thanks to great art, animations and quality control. It would be a perfect candidate for a VR "remake".
