Great videogame, definitely a classic, but let me tell you - it has NOT aged well. The platforming is very frustrating at times, both in level design (especially in the 2 secret chapters and in mechanics. It's not a long game, so those issues are easy to overlook, but do bear those in mind.

Tango Gameworks had the cojones to shadowdrop this game and have it be an immediate Game of the Year in JANUARY, to me outshining every other major release, including Armored Core 6 and Baldur's Gate 3.
Screw you, Microshaft. You had a good thing and you blew it.

My only complaint is that the game lacks diversity, but then again - it is in early access. Buy it. I only came up with this one con after 60 hours of playtime.

The game offered me to either buy a hat, convince the cashier to give it to me for free or take it by force.

That automatically makes it game of the year in my eyes.

The following review was initially written on release. It mostly doesn't apply. I absolutely love this game, and CDPR did a great job fixing it. I'm leaving it up for posterity.

God, this game makes me so pissed off. Not in a "it's so bad" kind of way, because it's not bad. It's good - very good, in fact. The problem is it's so damn unpolished (ironic, considering where the game's coming from). There is makings of greatness in here, the story and characters are amazing and I really like the setting (couldn't get into Witcher because of how profoundly boring fantasy settings have gotten to me).

But by god, the bugs. Sometimes they're hilarious, like when an NPC came over to Judy in the middle of her conversation and stared right into her cleavage, or when the zipper on my pants stopped working, sometimes they're just really distracting, like how in one mission I could notice the cars being spawned in during a car chase.

By all means, buy this game. Just... not now.
