Gray Zone Warfare: A Promising Tactical FPS with Room to Grow

Gray Zone Warfare presents itself as an immersive tactical FPS, aiming for maximum realism akin to titles like DayZ and Escape from Tarkov. However, its current state leaves much to be desired, particularly in server stability and player accessibility.

At present, the game falls into the category of "okay," with potential shining through the rough patches. The concept and gameplay mechanics hint at a promising future, but significant issues hinder its immediate enjoyment. Server-related problems, including connectivity issues and lack of features like team changing or account resets, hamper the overall experience. These limitations prevent players from fully immersing themselves in the game and enjoying it to its fullest potential, especially when trying to coordinate with friends on different teams.

Despite these drawbacks, there's a glimmer of hope. If the development team addresses these issues and polishes the game to a shine, Gray Zone Warfare could become an outstanding addition to the tactical FPS genre. The foundation is there, waiting to be built upon, and with the right adjustments, it has the potential to become a standout title.

short review for STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor. based on the first 3 hours of gameplay:

The initial hours of STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ may feel too similar to its predecessor, STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order. However, the game introduces new elements and mechanics to keep players engaged. The B1 Battle Droid's excessive chatter adds some much-needed humor to the otherwise serious tone of the game. Overall, while it may not offer a drastically different experience from the previous game, STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ still has potential to be an enjoyable adventure for fans of the Star Wars franchise.

FOLLOW UP after 60 hours Gameplay

After playing the first 60 hours of STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™, I have to say that I'm disappointed. The game feels like a faithful copy of its predecessor, STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order, and doesn't offer enough new content to justify its price tag. It's a shame that EA would release a game that is so similar to its predecessor, without adding anything substantially new to the experience.

While the B1 Battle Droid's humor is a welcome addition, it's not enough to make up for the feeling of repetition throughout the game. As a fan of the Star Wars franchise, I was hoping for a fresh and exciting adventure, but instead, I found myself going through the motions of the first game once again.

In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend purchasing STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ at full price. It's not worth the money, and it's disappointing that EA would release a game that feels like a carbon copy of its predecessor. If you're a die-hard Star Wars fan, you might find some enjoyment in the game, but for everyone else, it's best to wait for a sale or consider skipping it altogether.

Above Snakes: Prologue - A Unique Twist on Survival Games

Introduction

Above Snakes: Prologue is an immersive prologue about an apocalyptic event in a fictional version of the Wild West. The game stands out from other survival games as the world is not generated procedurally, but instead, you generate it yourself by placing isometric tile world pieces. In this review, we'll take a closer look at the game's features and gameplay.

Gameplay

The gameplay in Above Snakes: Prologue is unique and refreshing. As a player, you start your journey in the small lumberjack settlement of Hunter's Rest and begin crafting the world around you. You determine the landscape of this world inspired by the Wild West and dictate how it will unfold before you. Craft, cook, hunt, and fish to help the people of Hunter's Rest. You can also advance in leatherworking, cloth weaving, and other professions to create the best survival supplies for your adventure.

One of the most interesting aspects of the game is the isometric world made of world pieces, which is created by the player throughout their journey. This adds a new layer of strategy to the game, as you must plan out the placement of each piece to ensure you have enough resources to survive.

The deep base building system is another great feature of the game. You can invest your resources into your very own cabin and establish a base for defense and shelter. The extensive outdoor and indoor assets make it possible to create a unique and personalized base that fits your playstyle.

Pros and Cons

One of the game's biggest pros is its uniqueness. Above Snakes: Prologue offers a refreshing twist on the survival game genre, and the isometric world building is a great addition. The game also has full controller support, key and button rebinding, and accessibility options like disabling camera shake, smooth camera movements, and photosensitive mode.

However, the game is still in its early stages, and there is not much content available in the prologue. It's difficult to determine the game's full potential without experiencing more of it.

Conclusion

Above Snakes: Prologue is a promising game that offers a unique twist on the survival game genre. The game's isometric world building and deep base building system are standout features. The game's accessibility options are also a welcome addition. However, with limited content available in the prologue, it's difficult to determine the game's full potential. Overall, I would love to get my hands on this game to delve further into it and give it a better review. From what I've seen so far, I would recommend this game to fans of survival games who are looking for a new and refreshing experience.

My Complicated Relationship with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege

Introduction

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege is a game that I have played extensively over the years, and it's a game that has left me with a lot of mixed feelings. There are aspects of the game that I absolutely love, and other aspects that I find frustrating and disappointing.

Positive Aspects

One of the things I love about Rainbow Six Siege is the unique gameplay. The game is all about tactics and strategy, and it requires a lot of teamwork and communication to be successful. Each operator has a special ability that can be used to gain an advantage over the enemy team, and figuring out how to use these abilities effectively is incredibly satisfying.

I also appreciate the constant updates and support from the developers. The game has been out for several years now, but the developers continue to release new content, balance changes, and bug fixes on a regular basis. This shows a real dedication to the game and its community.

Negative Aspects

Unfortunately, there are also aspects of Rainbow Six Siege that I find frustrating. The game can be very toxic at times, with players hurling insults and being generally unpleasant to each other. The community can be unforgiving towards new players, which can make it difficult for people who are just starting out.

The game is also very difficult to master. There is a steep learning curve, and it can take a long time to get to a level where you feel confident in your abilities. This can be discouraging for new players, and it can also lead to frustration for more experienced players who feel like they're not making progress.

Conclusion

In the end, my relationship with Rainbow Six Siege is complicated. I love the unique gameplay and the constant updates from the developers, but I find the toxicity of the community and the steep learning curve to be frustrating. Overall, I would recommend the game to anyone who enjoys tactical shooters and is willing to put in the time to learn the ropes. However, if you're easily discouraged or put off by toxic players, then this may not be the game for you.

Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition - A New Experience

Introduction

As a longtime fan of the Age of Empires franchise, I was excited to try out Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition. However, I quickly realized that this game was not a rehash of Age of Empires II or Age of Empires II (2013). Instead, it offered a completely new experience that took some time to get used to.

Gameplay

The gameplay in Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is different from its predecessors. While the core mechanics are still there, such as gathering resources, building structures, and training units, there are new features and mechanics that change the way the game is played. For example, there are now unique abilities for each civilization, and the addition of naval combat adds a new dimension to battles.

Graphics

One of the biggest changes in Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is the graphics. While the game still retains its iconic art style, the graphics have been significantly improved with more detail and better animations. The environments and buildings are especially impressive, and it's clear that a lot of attention was paid to making them look as authentic as possible.

Sound Design

The sound design in Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is also impressive. The music is epic and sets the tone for battles, while the sound effects add to the immersion of the game. The voice acting is also well done, with each civilization having its own unique language and voice.

Conclusion

Overall, Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is a great addition to the franchise. While it may not be the same as its predecessors, it offers a new and refreshing experience that fans of the series will enjoy. The improved graphics, new features, and unique abilities for each civilization make the game worth playing. If you're a fan of strategy games, Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is definitely worth checking out.

Cities: Skylines - An Amazing Simulation Game for City-Building Enthusiasts

Overview
Cities: Skylines is a city-building simulation game that has gained a lot of popularity among gamers. Developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive, this game provides players with a realistic experience of managing and building their own cities. Released in 2015, Cities: Skylines has grown to become one of the most beloved city-building games out there.

Gameplay
The game is a true gem for city-building enthusiasts, as it offers an incredibly vast range of tools and options for players to create their own cities. One of the best things about the game is the ability to add mods that can enhance and improve the gameplay experience. The game’s community is full of talented modders who have created an amazing array of mods that add new buildings, improve gameplay mechanics, and more. The game also offers a plethora of downloadable content (DLC) that adds new features and items for players to use in their cities.

Modding Community
The modding community has really been the backbone of this game’s success. With mods like Traffic Manager: President Edition, Move It!, and Network Extensions 2, players can customize and fine-tune every aspect of their city to make it unique. The talented modders behind these mods have put in countless hours to keep them running, and their work has not gone unnoticed. It’s amazing to see the level of dedication and creativity in this community, and it’s clear that they are a huge part of what makes Cities: Skylines such a great game.

Paradox Interactive has released a wide range of DLC that adds new buildings, game mechanics, and features to the game. From industries to parks and sports arenas, the DLCs offer a lot of variety and give players more options to make their cities unique. While some may argue that the game is incomplete without the DLC, it’s important to note that they are completely optional, and players can still enjoy the game without them.

With the addition of DLC, players can expand their gameplay experience even further. The game’s community is welcoming and helpful, making it a great game for both experienced city-builders and newcomers to the genre.
