Really well designed and very enjoyable to play.

That slider puzzle can go ♥♥♥♥ off though.

Good day Engineers,

Today, on Saturday 21st January 2023,
I will change my opinion about Factorio from Recommended to Not recommended.

This is an adjustment to account for the amount of good games released on Steam since 2016.

Looks fantastic and has a great atmosphere. I liked the story a lot even though it takes a bit of a strange turn at some point.

Great game!

If you've ever experienced one of the following:
- Met a cat and enjoyed it
- Engaged in cat content on the internet
- Owned a cat
- Wanted to be a cat

you should get this game. Not only do you get to be a cat and meow whenever your heart desires, you also get an incredibly well-crafted game. The story is great and the game looks fantaastic. Also, the game is designed really well; most notably by clever use of lighting. The game always subtly shows you where to go so you never lose your sense of direction.

The only negative about the game that it does experience microstutters sometimes, however never harsh enough that it got annoying for me.

Having followed this game from the first couple of posts on the devblog back in 2015(!), I'm very happy with the final result!

My favorite thing about this game is how it just randomly crashes when 75% into a race. And then you redo the race, and the exact same thing happens. Fun!

Recommended in general, but especially recommended if you know you like this type of game. Wouldn't get it full price, would definitely get it on sale.

Some things I liked:
+ Gunplay is good. Guns do what you expect them to do and it's good fun to use them.
+ Weapon variety is great, even early-ish in the game.
+ Ammo is not a rarity (for most weapons), so don't feel limited in using your arsenal of guns.
+ The story is fine and in line with what you can expect from a Wolfenstein game.
+ The game does not take itself too seriously, in a good way.

Some things I disliked:
- At around 5 hours, this game is rather short. Upon reaching the ending I expected to be just over half way there. But no, that really was the ending. I didn't explore the entire map every level but I didn't rush either.
- It's kind of difficult for me to feel bad for characters that are introduced to me and then die within a half hour of me meeting them. Sure, it feels bad when one of the good guys dies, but there were no friendly characters I had any time to "bond" with before seeing them for the last time, for whatever reason that may be.
- The mechanic that is used in the first level of the game is fine, but goes on for too long. I get that BJ is escaping from prison and you can't just let him run around doing whatever, but just chilling behind cover waiting for the power armor guys to walk past, then disabling them gets stale very quickly.

An incredible experience unlike any other.

If you decide to play this, please do yourself a favor and go in knowing as little as possible about it.

A specific level was unclear to me because it required new mechanics that weren't introduced yet, but other than that it is well made and well thought out. Good music and visuals as well, but the story didn't grab me until the very end. Which is unfortunate, because the ending did resonate with me.

Full price, however, seems extremely steep to me for a game that is around 2 hours long. Especially because it doesn't really offer any replay value aside from maybe trying to 100% it.

Still There is so much more than the puzzle game it appears to be at first sight. The story is incredible and haunting at the same time. I actually felt attached to all the characters, even though you never really see them. This story, combined with a beautiful soundtrack and some great semi-Zachtronics-like puzzles form a fantastic experience that in my opinion is well worth the money.

I really really REALLY wanted to be able to recommend this game, but unfortunately this game seems to be doing everything within its power to make it impossible for me to do so.

Within the slightly less than 2 hours I've (so far?) "played" this game, I've experienced the following:

- It took me over 10 minutes to join a multiplayer game
- Said multiplayer game then bugged out once it asked me to use a portable refinery, because it did not allow me to interact with it. (I know what you're thinking, but no; it literally did not allow me to interact with it. I held E and the white circle filled up, but then it didn't open the menu. It also didn't allow me to pick it up again.)
- After restarting the game, in an attempt to fix the previous bug, it no longer allowed me to play multiplayer because according to NMS there was not a single lobby, even though friends were definitely in one. They were also unable to invite me.
- To try and fix the previous problem, I continued my save file in singleplayer to make an attempt at making progress. I finally was able to use the refinery and I actually made some progress! I then yeeted myself to the next planet, where the game crashed when trying to load some text. Straight to desktop.

Fantastic.

(Aside from this, I feel like it runs way worse than it should, but I don't really have anything to back that feeling up with so I might just be overlooking something.)
