Despite the fact that I own Control, and would like to give the Developers the money necessary to purchase the Season's Pass to complete my incomplete copy of "Complete Edition". Instead, they'd prefer I buy a whole new copy to fix the issue. A few months ago I found out I had the ability to purchase the Season's pass on Humble Bundle so I could in fact complete my "Complete Edition", but now that I have the money, I see that too has been delisted! So now I can't play the DLC, I can't purchase the DLC, and I have to go through the process of purchasing a whole new license, separate from the one I currently own, just to play the DLC I want to buy!

Remedy, you blame your player base for lacking sales for Alan Wake 2 but you pull ♥♥♥♥ like this for the fans who don't have the ability to purchase everything the way YOU want them to. Seriously, look it up, the lead developer blames people for not wanting to change instead of launching exclusively on a webstore that a lot of people refuse to use on principle alone.

Used to be a big fan, love the stories you guys make, but your blame shifting and treating the customer like they're a wallet has lost you a proper supporter.

Good game with solid bones, but the real fun comes from modding the hell out of it and letting the chaos ensue as every attempt drives you that little bit more towards feeding yourself to the mighty quota

Quick game, lovely art style, bite size puzzles. Highly recommend if you get it on sale like I did. Credits are unskippable, which doesn't detract from the gameplay itself. More like you'll have to hit alt+f4 if you don't feel like waiting

A game where any skill level and skill issues meet in a blasphemous all out firefight. Imagine if you will, a friendly pilot crashing into you as you were about to resurrect your squad mate who died because of heavy suppressive fire, only being caught out because you were all laughing too hard at what that dude with the suicide C4 ended up destroying when trying to take out a tank that had no occupants.

The game is a good loop of hack n slash, but in it's current form I wouldn't recommend buying it. There's a fully fleshed out cash shop, but the basic crafting and upgrade system isn't even complete post launch. Maybe when they make good on that recent promise to do better I'll change my review, but until then you should pass on this

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME HERE UNTIL SQUARE ENIX ACHIEVES PLATFORM SYNCHRONIZATION FOR UPDATES

I love this game, I love the world Yoko Taro has created, I love the characters that seem to just exist for a couple jokes and other characters that only seem to exist for a couple jokes and surprise you with how deep they are. I love the catty back and forth between 9S and 2B with the Pods. The story gets a bit convoluted but is wonderful. I originally intended on 100%ing this back when I first started playing it for a friend, but then I lost access and had to buy it for myself.

This is where I should say that you are going to love this game, and you normally would. But it's buggy. I don't mean buggy like 'Oh, the physics engine sometimes sends ragdolls flying" kind, I mean the "I just spent 12 hours killing robots only for the game to decide my save file wasn't good enough and refuses to read it now" kinda buggy. Thankfully I ran into only one bug like that in my entire run, and that was AFTER installing unofficial patches with the help of said friend. This patch does more than just fix bad data issues as well, but actually allows you to run the entire game in Vulkan API, which may or may not fix any and all issues you might have with performance depending on what solution you're using and even allows you to tweak the settings even further than normal performance menus to really let you play the game instead of wait for your PC to catch up.

Why am I bothering to tell you all this? Well, because this version is dead as far as support goes. Hasn't been updated in such a long time, I haven't even gotten an update since I bought the damn thing a while ago. This is usually normal for games like this. Wanna know the kicker though? Windows Store gets updates still. Performance updates, bug fixes, etc. all going fine over there. But not here. Why? Well, Square has this bad habit of thinking that they don't need to provide legacy support for games they still charge quite a fair bit for.

Final Verdict:

Great Game, DO NOT BUY!

While I enjoyed this game, and put in well over 100 hours in the first week, I can't recommend this game for anyone who doesn't have a decently beefy PC setup. Nothing top of the line, just assume that the default recommended settings for each "Tier" of graphical quality are one higher than they say they are to get 60fps *most* of the time. There are a bunch of unoptimized zones in the game that you WILL notice when driving past or walking around, and some of these areas are nonsensical for the most part until you put in the time like I did, as most of the performace issue areas are just multiple quest zones nearby each other, so the simple AI they use for civilians to keep chugging down when around too many of them doesn't work as intended to pull the veil, so to speak.

If you have a decent computer, some decent money to burn and you're willing to wait for the game to eventually be, and I say this with a healthy palm of salt, a great game. I personally believe that at it's current point of polish, it isn't worth the AAA premium video game price tag. Especially since the last generation console version was literally unplayable to most people, and that doesn't reflect well on expectations for what CDPR was intending to do, which is focus on the PC version ratings and downplay the issues on console to try and make a little extra money from people who weren't well informed (Which is an issue caused by CDPR by not allowing reviewers to complain about bugs and performance issues during the pre-release time frame and disallowing the use of any screenshots that aren't by them. This is a behavioural detail about the company you should keep in mind, as they did actually make a good game before. That just went to their heads, and they started huffing their own farts so they didn't have to tell the truth to anyone as with all corpo scum.

TL;DR CDPR has been outed as being scummy, do your research. Corporate greed doesn't translate into corporate profits. Don't buy this game unless you're ready to deal with all this as an owner of the game. I leave this as recommended because it will get the most visibility, not because this game is currently worth the price of admission.

This game gives us all what we dream of. A stable living situation with potential to grow exponentially based on effort. Thanks Grandpa
