Set graphics to 4K ultra. Load in. Game looks kinda generic Unity, not like the screenshots. More like the potato dev stream.

Wander around. TONS of giant boars everywhere that are like baby mammoths. Try to attack. Can't attack. Can't craft anything on the fly. Keep running. My friend and I are now being chased by a wolf and a massive boar. Find boxes. Jump up on boxes. Taunt animals that stand there and stare at us stupidly for a few minutes. Quit.

I can't speak to how much time there is currently to spend at end game, but what I can say is that it's a beautiful game that is a joy to relax and play. Not feeling like a challenge? Go to an easy realm and farm what you need to build yourself a nice house or even an entire complex. Given how complex the crafting system is so far I'm expecting the future to have some interesting uses for the variety of materials available.

It's a good game that will hopefully improve with time.

Buggy garbage

It's like Overwatch, but without the fun.

his game is an absolute buggy mess. How has it been out for this long and I can't make it 2 hours without constant problems? Playing with a friend, every single quest that says return to Teclis we have to exit and come back in because you can't interact with him. Eventually we got to a quest where I walked to another zone and he was in a trader and it caused him to get stuck on that screen and we had to exit. This is just straight garbage. This is what I would expect from a game in alpha state.

For an early access game it's definitely on the right path. I haven't encountered too many bugs, the basics are there, the multiplayer works, and so far I've been having fun with it. What it needs now is content and polish, but it's definitely on the path to being a pretty decent game.

I've had less fun and spent less time on games that were farther along in development and cost twice as much. Are there things to improve on? Of course, it's early in development. Look at how long 7 Days To Die spent in development to get to where it's at. The worst design mechanic I've run into so far is the crafting XP (staring at benches to level up) which can be extra annoying in multiplayer and deciding who has to focus on skills. Do you want to go scavenge? Sorry, gotta stare at the benches.

Overall though it's been pretty fun and I'm interested to see how the game progresses. I'm fairly happy with the building system and hope that improvements can fix some of the minor snapping issues and hopefully it gets easier to finish off a roof on slightly larger buildings.

Bought it, went to play with my friends, discovered cross-play is only between consoles. People just want to play games together and have fun.

I'm going to keep this short, because there are already tons of reviews. If you want a good DND game with an okay'ish story and serviceable graphics that works in single player this isn't bad. If you want to play mutliplayer stay away. It still has so many desyncs and bugs that it's an exercise in frustration. It has a lot of potential but I just can't recommend it right now. It needs more polish.

I wanted to like it, but it just feels very grindy. I was looking for something in the survival/craft genre but the progression/grinding mechanics make this feel like I'm playing a Korean MMO. The amount of time and effort it takes to level, unlock, etc. just doesn't feel rewarding in this type of gameplay loop.
