RE4 on the gamecube is one of my favorite games of all time, and ever since RE2 remake dropped I had been fantasizing about RE4 re-imagined in their in-house engine. It does not play the same as the original, but offers instead a modern control system and a scarily detailed map heavily inspired by the original with some new additions. This game gives me the same rush and thrill I remember having when I first played the original and that is more than I could ask of it.
There has been some debate about lackluster voice acting, but I have never personally played RE for the story so I find it easy to ignore.
I recommend this for any RE fans and horror survival fans. The game is action heavy and gets your heart racing.

Hands down one one the best video games I have played. Dumped hours into this on both my PC and playstation. The world, characters, writing, acting, attention to detail, everything is just really stellar.
I am starting to feel rockstar's mission design is reaching its end, as the only frustrating aspect is how linear some missions can be given the open world design; but everything else this game offers more than makes up for it.
I love period pieces, and I love crime movies, so the setting and themes just struck perfectly for me. I often find myself booting the game up just to take a walk and soak in the atmosphere.
I would say this is a must play for a lot of folks.

Extremely disappointing to find so many AI generated images used as assets in this. A spit in the face to creatives everywhere. Artists, writers, actors, and creatives across many fields have been explaining the plagiarism and harm of generative programs for a while now so I find it difficult to believe the devs are unaware. If they can't be bothered to commission an artist to make in-game poster assets then I dont think you should bother yourself with buying this game.

Update: the game now freezes when loading a map or multiplayer lobby. But hey, they added a $10 DLC. Great, right?

Pros:
-The most immersive game I have ever played.
-It's like going to a Half-Life amusement park in your own home.
-A few select chapters can stand as their own game alone.
-Steam workshop.

Cons:
-You will try to pick things up by flicking your wrist irl.

Extremely realistic, and a very kind community of players.
