Nearly ruined my life 10/10

Feels entirely on-rails. You walk from zone to zone, in order, plant things in the hex spaces where you're allowed to plant them with little concern for which plants you choose and then repeat in the next zone the game lets you access. Combine that with an "elder" character who is outrageously negligent and constantly gaslights the main character, and the game just keeps feeling more and more unpleasant to play. Less cozy, more mind-numbing and tedious.

Easily the best turn-based jrpg in at least a decade.

Was hoping for an updated take on Jet Set Radio. Got an updated take on Jet Set Radio that feels like it was created ten years ago. Which, yeah, I guess that's technically an update. Be careful what you wish for.

Pretty music and animation, but I was disappointed by the rest. The story felt awkward. Offering good and bad choices throughout the game with minimal impact to the storyline or the character's behavior makes for a frustrating and inconsistent plot made even more frustrating because the actual platforming itself isn't much fun either. I chose to push on because I was hoping the story would make it all worth it, but it really doesn't. Wish I had spent my time on another game.
