I loved Medieval Dynasty, and I see the potential here. It's still got a long way to go to reach the depth and complexity of its precursor, but I can see small ways where it's actually improved over it (like being able to freely move any building without having to deconstruct and rebuild it). I'm looking forward to seeing it more feature complete, and more of MD's features being re-added to this game. I'd say the most obviously incomplete feature is that the Skill/Perk trees are in desperate need of fleshing out, they feel extremely placeholder at the moment.

Still having fun though, but it's very much making me want to switch back the longer I go on. xD

Very badly needs the ability to pause outside of combat, especially during the 'hidden' phase while you're preparing to attack. The 'Surprised!' state also is extremely buggy and 9 times out of 10 the game just skips the enemy being surprised and goes straight to 'Alerted' -- and thus everyone on the entire map now psychically knows combat has begun and where you are. At least for once they tried to explain this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ phenomenon with micro-cutscenes of the alerted enemy yelling or firing their gun into the air. :/

Will change to positive if they ever fix these issues, the game would be enjoyable otherwise.

Unfortunately while I want it to be good, this game suffers from its own overcomplicated systems. If you came looking for a village building simulator? Look elsewhere, this game is an *Economy* simulator.

All production chains are broken and do not function unless you have two more supporting families (and more houses AND business zones for each) supplying basic materials, but since those materials are rarely used other than for your construction projects, expect them to suddenly run out of money and have no means of earning anything once you've finished building things for a while, leading to them starving and being angry with you despite there being literally nothing you can do other than building for infinity. And that's just things like, oh I don't know, miners, woodcutters, carpenters, architects, the entire Clergy that was added to the game that literally relies on your donations to exist and their 12 sub-professions, jewelers, armorers, the list goes on. The only self-sufficient families in the game are the ones that gather or farm food, and even they struggle if you aren't focusing on them non-stop.

They keep adding more and more things you are *forced* to build otherwise your settlement will fail to function and everyone will be angry. With the recent updates now you have to not only add guards (day and night shifts) jailors (day and night shifts), soldier regiments and an executioner, plus the respective guard posts, barracks, jail, and execution zone, many of which require carpenters to build the stations that make them *functional*, by the way -- you also are forced to add clergy, consisting of AT MINIMUM a bishop and minister, a separate church and chapel (yeah nobles and peasants literally refuse to go to the same church so you're forced to build TWO CHURCHES), plus a library and quarters for all your monks and priests, a hospital run by a clergy nurse, a graveyard with a gravekeeper, and some means of resupplying them with paper and money all the time. Then you're required to build an Inn to attract any new families in the first place, AND -- that's right! -- a separate TAVERN because nobles again won't go to the same place as dirty commoners!

Are you thinking "Man that's a lot of ♥♥♥♥ you have to build' yet? We haven't even gotten into actually building THE VILLAGE ITSELF YET! Let alone having a family for every single one of those places!

Recent updates also made it so your own family, representing you the ruler of town, now refuse to lift a finger to do literally anything yourself, making your family 1000000% pointless in even existing first of all -- but now you also have to recruit Servants from the population to do everything for you! And you need a LOT of servants to fill all the roles that's now been divided into! Can't just have a general purpose servant pool, that'd be too sane!

The developer of this game is too focused on trying to create new systems to overcomplicate the already overcomplicated game to add rather than fixing the broken economy simulation I mentioned at the start of this review. If you don't have everything balanced to that one secret magic formula of taxes, amounts of workers, socage and stewardry settings that makes everything actually run smoothly, watch everything burn and everyone get pissed off, or get sick, and leave. All this while dealing with a horrendous 'King/Queen Demands' system where most of what your village produces gets taxed by the king (or he sends soldiers to kill you) and they will constantly demand you send him more soldiers for his offscreen war, meaning you've got to strip more people from their families and force conscript them as soldiers, dwindling your villager families - which don't replenish on their own -- or recruit new families at the inn specifically to immediately conscript and throw away.

There's so much about this game that's bad and I just don't have the energy to keep going anymore. I loved the idea of it at first, but it's just become pointless to keep coming back to this game. Nothing about the economy simulation works, and the dev keeps making it not work even harder.

The developers of this game very much ascribe to the developer's fallacy: If it's not broke, FIX IT 'TIL IT IS! Every update ruins the game in new and creative ways.

As of 3.whatever, The AI cheats to magically rematerialize giant fleets you just destroyed in an instant while it takes you literal years to replenish half of yours, by which time the AI has gone 'well this person attacked me once so I better quintuple my fleet size lul' -- and does so, freely, without cost apparently because actually getting those alloys to make that fleet should be impossible with their economy. The AI simply ignores the costs and conjures that ♥♥♥♥ out of thin air! How 'fun'! What amazing 'strategy' that is!

If you want to see a solid example of a game that is literally a million times worse than the 1.0 release rather than better, this is the game for you. If you're SANE however, steer clear of this gigantic pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and go get Sword of the Stars instead. THAT game is actually *GOOD!*

A neat concept ruined by the devs' bizzare obsession with PVP. Fun for about a week.

There are no, or very very few, upgrades. EVERYTHING is a sidegrade. You can literally never get a better tier of armor than what you start with. Sure you can get Synedrion or Anu or Jericho armor, but for every stat they're better at, they have stats they're worse at. I've never played an X-Com clone in my life designed like this and it's bizzare as ♥♥♥♥. :I

I already own the game, but you can be spared of this misery. Give this one a pass and go play better games of the genre.

I created a category in my Library named "Terrible" -- this is an honored member of that list. :I

Attempted to refund many times but the dev is content to let steam's automatic 'lul you played for more than 2 hourzzz' filter deflect any refund attempts, despite other developers being happy to help you out with that with as much as 10 hours played ( Probably because these days 2 hours doesn't even get you past the fxxing tutorial )

So yeah. Bad game. Bad return policy. Just plain bad. Stay away.
