While I recognize this as a good commentary on the state of DLC in the early 2010s, I can't say the game holds up very well. The game-play loop makes less sense these days, as most DLC comes in the form of skins and battle passes. The game itself was never really fun on its own, so the over all package doesn't hold up as a fun experience. If you were big into gaming in the 2000s and early 2010s, you might get a kick out of the references and the way it calls out those early days of DLC; but with the short run time and lack of engaging game-play, I'm not sure you'll really enjoy the experience.

As an additional note, the achievements are all fairly easy, but there are 2 speed run achievements that really hurt the completionist experience. The margins for the runs are very slim and, as I mentioned before, the game is not very fun. You'll find yourself playing each game mode over and over, even if you know the good routes. This took my opinion on the game from neutral to negative.

About 30 minutes worth of content on first play-through. I only have around 3 hours because I 100% it, which requires playing the same 5 levels with each of the 6 characters. They don't have any differences, other than voice lines.

If you are a little kid, this might be fun, considering it is free; otherwise, I wouldn't really waste my time.

An enthralling story that kept me engaged from start to finish. I enjoyed trying to piece the story together and thought all the clues fit together quite nicely, with a couple unforeseen twists along the way.

While I expected a lot more traditional puzzle solving, I was delighted by the less traditional conversational puzzle solving. Be thorough and pay attention! You may just make it out alive!

Despite a few crashes and a couple visual glitches, this game holds up well. Obviously you are just going to get redux, but this is a review for the OG, so yeah. GLHF <3

The best parts of the remakes combined with the already amazing classic that is RE4. This is one of the best games of all time.

I'm glad there are plenty of good reviews for this game, because all the bad reviews seem to be missing the point.

Almost every negative review I've read says something to the effect of "the combat is bad because the controls are clunky." Going into this game, it is important for you to realize this is intentional. They decided to make attacking difficult to discourage combat. The game is meant to make you feel disadvantaged and weak, just like pretty much every horror game ever made. There is not a single place in the game where I felt combat was necessary; hiding and sneaking was always an option. That being said, once I got a hang of attacking, combat became relatively easy and straight forward. Almost comically easy.

Luckily, combat is not the focus of this game. The atmosphere is on point and the plot you uncover along the way is compelling. On top of that, the puzzles are both intuitive and clever. There were many times playing where I thought, "I've never seen THAT before," which is especially interesting considering the games age. I've played many horror games and many puzzle games, this is an amazing example of both. It isn't the best game ever made, but worth the money and the time.

This might be the best game I've played in the past 5 or 10 years. It's like Left 4 Dead meets Minecraft with just the right amount of Borderlands for flavor. I love it and look forward to seeing it grow and get even better with age.
