Some people were just complaining about how this game wasn't fun, was a waste of their time and how this game didn't help their depression etc.

I really don't get why people like this are even playing this game. You can simply play something much more fun or hang out with your friends instead of wasting your "Important" time on writing a bad review on a game. And for the actual depressed people playing this game, thinking that it will help their depression; Look dude, this not a game for you. It is a game for the people who have empathy, a little free time and some patience in them (By which, I mean people around you that want to help you but don't really know how it feels to be in depression.) and it really isn't a game at all, it is a simulation to raise awareness and make people emphatize when they see someone depressed. I only wasted an hour on this game and did only 1 run and reached the good ending. However, my depressed friend played this (And he is the only reason i played this game) and he got a game over in like 15 minutes (Source: he told me that) just because he played the game like it's actually real life. To get a good ending you need to think like the protagonist, feel like the protagonist and think of the outcomes when you are making decisions. If a depressed person plays this they will get a bad and depressing ending like 80% of the time. My run wasn't the greatest and it certainly wasn't the worst one. Surely, one time I almost lost the game. But i knew that it would be fine if i just moved on. And that is exactly what the game tells us in the end of the good ending:

"Instead of a tidy ending, we want to just provied a series of outlooks to take moving forward. After all, that's all we can really do with depression - just keep moving forward. And at the end of the day it's our outlook, and support from people just like you, that makes all the difference in the world. Thanks Again"

You are probably asking; "why did this random guy on the internet spent time on a stupid review?"
That's because I get triggered when I see people criticizing a game unfairly. You can't criticise a game if you don't undertsand it's story,characters and (sometimes) the lesson that the game teaches us. If you criticise a game without having a general understanding of these three. it would not be fair. It's like judging a fish by it's ability to climb a tree! It's just stupid.

Also, this game is not perfect. It has flaws just like any other game. And it is also not fun at all, it's mostly reading text and trying to understand the plot to make good decisions.

To sum up, this wasn't a review of Depression Quest. THIS was a review of the REVIEWS of Depression Quest and if you managed to read all of this without being bored. Instead, trying to undertsand my point then you will probably get the good ending in this game. Anyways thanks for spending time on reading this review. (Edit: grammar)
