I wish you the best of luck with the mental help you clearly need. I'm setting my profile back to private because I don't have time to deal with emotionally challenged children.
Kaldaien Aug 6 @ 12:40pm
No, because there is no such thing you ignorant dumbass. If you morons would read the source code rather than making♥♥♥♥♥♥up and making yourselves look stupider than even I give you credit for, you'd know this.
dresden Aug 6 @ 12:38pm
am I on your mod blacklist yet, autismo?
Kaldaien Aug 3 @ 2:52pm
I have already spent way too much time on it. The engine is not reference counting its textures correctly. I wish I had a simpler explanation, but that's the simplest I can give you :)

The texture cache will cause infinite recursion issues (game locks up during texture memory release). I can't see any short-term solution for this problem unfortunately, so texture modding will have to be a no-go for that game.
Tsuna Aug 3 @ 2:25pm
Kal, can you check why the texture caching and mod tools arent working in Yakuza 0?

That makes me laugh more than you can know. The notion that Denuvo would pay me to talk about how ineffective their software is. Some people ... :pointless:

I'm having some trouble with Special K and certain games, also with ReShade.

Voodooman has an interesting proposal. :)
Kaldaien Sep 27, 2017 @ 3:57pm
It was donated by a very generous friend. I was on the fence, but since it was gifted I would feel like a jerk if I didn't play it ;) I feel like I got my fill of Secret of Mana after the GBA version, but maybe the 3D remake will reinvigorate things.
Way of the Voice Sep 26, 2017 @ 3:39pm
I saw you bought Secret of Mania! I'm pumped to play that game. I wish the Co-op was online, would make it much for fun...

Voodooman Sep 12, 2017 @ 3:14am
I have problems with Gun*Gal texture modding (and it was a pain to even figure out where to place textures - so there is no separation per exe name and requirement to put in streaming folder?) - every time i start game hash is different for same textures. As far as i remember gedosato, helixmod and 3dmigoto and Umod has this problem sorted out (could happen in every Unreal Engine 3 game and some others), and 1st and the last 2 one has source code available so you can borrow it parts. Also why dont you borrow their methods of hash calculation and texture formast and add compatibility option, so that Special K can load textures mad for Texmod\Umod (tpf, zip) , Gedosato, 3dmigoto, Helix? Its shame that every tool calculates hashes different way and there is no standard to make texture packs compatible with any tool.
Tsuna Aug 22, 2017 @ 3:04am
Don't go all out, just get it running. It has issues with AA and doesn't let thee AA settings be overwritten for strange reasons. It will be interesting from a technical point.
Kaldaien Aug 22, 2017 @ 2:09am
I'd rather not be associated with that game ;)
Tsuna Aug 22, 2017 @ 2:03am
Can you take a look Gun*Gal running at Special K. It seems to behave quite strangely.
Kaldaien Jun 24, 2017 @ 6:49am
Oh, neat :) I won't lie, C# kind of makes me angry for some reason every time I see it, lol. Objective-C and C# both have that reaction from me. Looks like this could be very helpful in debugging those games. Thanks.
Tsuna Jun 22, 2017 @ 9:31am
Oh Kal. Friend of mine is working on a native modding tool for Unity. This might proof interesting regarding your latest confontations with unity :P https://github.com/0x0ade/MonoMod
ArchSublime Jun 16, 2017 @ 2:51am
I get like 45-50 fps average just sitting in the main city of the game (Sanctuary). This was at 640x480, everything set to the lowest setting (including PhysX). As far as I can tell, resolution doesn't even impact the performance, which is a first for me lol.

I've got a 980 and OC'd i7-6700 in my rig, so I immediately knew something was up. By the sound of it though, I guess there's not much that can really be done? Oddly enough just from browsing around forums and random threads, it seems that some GPU's aren't affected by whatever the issue is, even on Windows 10. 900 series seems to be the most commonly affected.

I've seen a few people with 1060's claim that their frames are perfectly fine, but then several people with 1070's and higher that do experience this terrible performance.

This has some relevant info:
Tsuna Jun 16, 2017 @ 2:37am
As to physix. When a AMD card is found the phyix will use the CPU instead og GPU for calculations and is refusing to run on anything more but a single core on multicore cpus. Now this on its own already is murder for performance. However if they run via cpu they also utilize intentionally old and inefficient code. See http://techreport.com/news/19216/physx-hobbled-on-the-cpu-by-x87-code
Kaldaien Jun 16, 2017 @ 2:31am
Yeah, you're not kidding :-\ There's something wrong with this game on Windows 10. It hitches 4-5 times per-second. I've been neglecting my D3D9 code and don't have the tools to analyze what's going on here. If I had to guess it's probably PhysX related.
Tsuna Jun 16, 2017 @ 1:28am
Unfortunatly it isn't off by default. It is hard locked to "low" and cannot be turned off. Which means AMD users gets worse performance by default.
Kaldaien Jun 15, 2017 @ 10:44pm
No, actually. I've never known Borderlands to be problematic. Turning hardware PhysX on will definitely cause problems, but it's off by default and the software-level effects are manageable by just about any GPU.

I can't speak for Borderlands 2, but I did run Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in a 3 GTX 980 system with 2-way SLI + 1 GPU dedicated to hardware PhysX. It ran great, but that's not normal hardware :)

I'll take a look at Borderlands 2 when I get some time.
ArchSublime Jun 15, 2017 @ 7:17pm
So, it's no secret that you're well known for game fixes. But I gotta ask, have you ever looked into the performance issues with Borderlands 2? The performance is atrocious on most Windows 10 systems, and supposedly it's got something to do with Physx. People are still searching for a solution and have been for a while. So I figured if you didn't already know about it, it might be right up your alley lol. If you do know something about this, feel free to msg me on here when you've got the time!

Markus is bad at video games Jun 3, 2017 @ 7:24pm
Hey, sorry I've stopped filing and following up on issues on GitHub. I've switched back to using Linux full-time, but SpecialK is one of the few things I miss from using Windows. I can confirm that 0.6.27 works in wine with RTSS 6.51, though!
Tsuna May 23, 2017 @ 10:33am
You are doing good work.
Tsuna May 23, 2017 @ 10:33am
Keep it up. Don't let any idiots tell you otherwise.
Kaldaien Apr 26, 2017 @ 4:27am
Too busy with other stuff to look into that right now :-\ I'm trying to get Special K ready for 0.8.0 release :) I just fixed Steam controller hot-plugging in tons of games on Steam, I'm really enjoying working at a more general level right now. Stuff that I write once and applies everywhere, that's a change of pace I really need.
mdzapeer Apr 26, 2017 @ 4:21am
Yes Bayonetta runs at 59.94 fps or something. making do boderless window mode for, but the input lag....

Thanks again Kaldaien for your mod/fix on the Game Nier. Sad that Bandai and Square do not notice you for your work. Best wishes Dave

Can you check for support for the Atelier games and Azure? Additionally can we texture dump in all games Special K supports in its dropdown?

part2 I was so happy first they released Valkyria Chronicles later on mostly all Final Fantasy Games and then Tales of... But sadly most of the ports where bad done and even worse 30 fps cap that comes back to my Motion sickness... Still there was one Guy you Kaldaien that fixed many of the Issues that the gamedevs should have fixed. I'm 28 years old now and most of my gaming time i spend all this years where more or less painful until pc gaming was a think and peoples like you Kaldaien and all other Modders that work hard on fix/mods/new content to make the PC gaming to a better place. All best wishes to you Kaldaien and the rest of the PC modding community all around the world. Sonarok/Dave p.s. sorry english is not my main language
davetaku Dec 15, 2016 @ 1:44pm
part1 Hello Kaldaien
I would like to thank you for your Tales of/Final Fantasy Fix/Work, before its maybe to late and you vanish from the PC Community. I was really happy that someone fixed the 30 FPS cap. I always struggle to play games that mostly run on 30 FPS back then 1995 where i first start playing games in my earlier life, thanks to Motion sickness. Games that i loved to play legend of zelda, final fantasy and tales of series where more or less a pain all the time because of the 30 FPS locks... Later on i was playing on a PC and i found a new World to play in smooth 40-60 FPS. Only sad think was back then, there was no final fantasy, zelda or tales of games on pc... I was wating for ages... since ♥♥♥♥ing 1995 that in some future the games going to be released for the pc.

Wow that sucks man, sorry to hear that.
Kaldaien Dec 13, 2016 @ 11:32pm
@Deus Sinistro: Doesn't much help that my PSU died. The Steam client continues ticking away playtime until you log out. It's a pretty useless number.
