Lethal Company, Content Warning, and Helldivers II all WISH they were this game.

Steering wheel controller sensitivity is wack. You have to turn your irl wheel a whole bunch just to get the in-game one to barely move, and after that, the in-game wheel turns in that direction if you barely move it. Hopefully the sequel smooths out the controls cause this is unplayable for a wheel user like myself.

tl;dr If you've never played a wrestling video game before, this should be your first stop!

I've only gotten into wrestling recently, so I may not know everything there is to know about WWE 2K and the history of this industry, but my word is it a heck of a lot of fun. Yes, the showcase mode is just objective city, but you can just put it on Easy difficulty and grind it out within three to four hours. And again, it's easy for a complete and utter noob like myself.

Where I REALLY] lose myself is the Create a Superstar feature. I currently have about twelve hours in this game, and about ten of those hours was JUST going through all the customization options for the MALE superstar alone. The model sculpting, the ENORMOUS selection of clothes, the VAST roster of moves, and even creating an entrance, victory, custom championship., arenas, signs, etc. All of this is just a sliver of what this game has to offer, and I have yet to really jump in to all of it. Not to mention the return of special guest referees, casket matches, ambulance matches, create a custom referee, stuff that should never have been removed since the Smackdown vs Raw days, yada yada yada.

Yeah yeah, certain character reskins being locked into MyFaction (this game's version of Madden Ultimate Team) is pretty trash, but we should come to expect it from AAA and AAAA game studios in current year.

And yes, the removal of two very controversial names this year (Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar) is a hot topic, but there are also other names that are not in this game that were also in WWE 2K23, those being Edge, Dolph Ziggler, Goldberg, Elias, just to name a few. But if that's reason enough to make you not want to buy this game, you're not missing much.

I will continue to update this review as I continue to go through the other modes on my own schedule. But currently, with 12.1 hours logged, as a very casual, laid-back WWE experience, it really does live up to the hype, and bides my time until Wrestlemania XL.

Never got into wrestling before, but they gave me this to teethe on before WWE 2K24 releases. I'm a noob when it comes to the combat, but I bet I can get the jist of it down before the new one comes out.

Basically, if you're new to the WWE universe and want to explore it, this is a good place to start. Just don't go crazy with it.

This is the greatest live-service FPS game I have ever played.

tl;dr Great gameplay and cosmetics, not cringe like Fortnite, Apex, OW, or Valorant. Lacking in different gamemodes and battle pass is a grind.

The customization is the best I've seen in years for an MMO shooter, and that's saying a lot. The paid cosmetics actually feel rewarding, with an extreme attention to detail that most other developers do not care to put into their games.

The weapons are so satisfying to use, and rewarding when you eliminate someone. The models and animations are again some of the best in FPS gaming.

One thing other MMOFPS games do wrong, especially ones made in the last decade, is the "Operator" system. Luckily, this is mitigated by weight classes instead. I just hate it when game developers lock specific weapons or abilities behind a specific character, and then the voice lines for that character are so cringe it makes you want to uninstall. Every single weight class can be fully customized, from sex, skin, hair, and eye color, to full outfits and even pets that can sit on your shoulder.

But the best thing about this game, the thing that separates it from other arena shooters, is the destructible environment. It can go from R6S to Battlefield levels of chaos, and it completely changes strategies and directions of attack for objectives.

If there are any negatives (as of season one), it's the fact that there are only two "casual" game modes, as well as the tournament system for the "what I call 'tryhards'". I would love to see traditional FPS gamemodes added later, or perhaps a spin on them. These could include: Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Domination, Search & Destroy, Infection, Free-for-All, and more.

All in all, THE FINALS is a MMOFPS that believes in show, don't tell. Rather than relying on quirky operators with Marvel-esque one-liners, its charm and appeal are 100% in the gameplay and overall themes of the setting. It takes itself semi-seriously, but the fun factor is no joke.

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot one important request:

Play it on Game Pass if you can. Graphics are very unoptimized, HUD does not work with wheels, and the performance is not the best.

Easily my number one favorite VR game. I love just being able to sit down and chat with some friends while playing Texas Hold Em. It's a bit of a grind to get the star coins to buy props but that's all part of the fun for me!

It has everything you could want: Full damage, custom cars and tracks, beautiful graphics, and amazing simulation!

Still in my opinion the best PC racing game ever made, almost ten years later!
