My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined

I'll be keeping my eye very closely on this game, but right now it's an incredibly easy auto-playing idle game that built a ton of incredibly complex AI systems only for the absolute mass of units that quickly flood your town to race through anything thrown at them so quickly you've got more money than you can spend and you're only placing quests to keep yourself busy. It's genuinely hard to keep track of the units because the game plays so fast, somewhat defeating any strategy on the side of this town builder. Some tuning will make this game work, and I'll be back to recommend it when that happens.

Every update has game-breaking bugs. Every update introduces more game-breaking bugs. Right now, every single member of staff is employed by every player automatically. The salary bill is in the millions. This is in the 1.6 patch. It could have taken a single employee at Frontier to check this. Just like the countless bugs beforehand. Nope, just push out completely unplayable, broken garbage again. That's the Frontier way.

I love the idea of this to death but in order to get an even acceptable ending you have to go through a process of secret hunting and passcode entering so tedious sounding that I can't even bear the thought of getting through to the end

A work of postmodern ironic genius

This series was getting gradually better until this absolute garbage fire of a game hit the store. The story is nonsensical, every character is stilted and frustrating in ways far beyond the prior entries in this series, and good lord, the game is completely BROKEN. We have had to restart multiple times due to players losing control of their characters in walking sections, or the camera, or both. We have had cutscenes not play and characters disappeared, and in the greatest sin of all for a game like this, we've had characters die *due* to bugs. This was a very, very easy game for Supermassive to at least do acceptably, and this is not their first time doing multiplayer games, but for this to be the most broken disaster of them all is an extraordinary feat.

As is to be expected from a Frontier game, this is simply not good enough for a licensed product and not good enough for any price point, let alone what it's being sold for. Tyre management is fundamentally broken, with the game making up temperature stats on the spot to fit its scripted narrative. Financial management is nonexistent (another Frontier staple), as the poorest team on the grid I can afford literally any facility upgrade and driver I could ever want. To call the AI "AI" would be to give it too much credit - it is pre-determined and scripted. Frontier bragged about getting real driver radio voice lines, a superfluous feature that nobody asked for, and still botched it, you'll hear every line a driver has in two races, and some of them are just incorrect. Development time was spent on this instead of the simulation, which was instead made up at the last minute under the guise of potentially being able to fool the gullible for half a season. You fooled me again, Frontier! Hopefully for the last time.
