What’s going on?

It’s time to hit the Nike SB Pop-Up event on Isle of Grom - at NIGHT! Open access, Nike SB, a Nike SB park on the barge, and nighttime - let’s go! We brought Nike SB to skate. From April 14 - May 5, and have turned off the sun on the Isle of Grom from April 14 - June 2. For more details on the event, check the blog. (Make sure to complete all the Nike SB tasks to claim your free black Nike SB socks, Nike SB sticker, and Nike SB Dunk Highs.)

Don’t forget: Keep sharing your bug/issues so we can squash ‘em flat. 

Our Dark Tricks video contest is done - we’ve reached out to the winners (and it was really difficult to select only 15 because there were so many sick clips) to get their decks shipped. We’ll be updating skate.REEL with the clip and working with the winners to get the files to make our first set of community video reels. Stay tuned!

Part of The Weekly Grind will be dedicated to sharing current Known Issues the team is tracking for bugs & issues, any active deployments/fixes, and next steps.

Developer’s Note: We’re seeing a small volume of crashes on PC related to 13th and 14th Gen Intel Processors. 

This is a thermal hardware issue with Intel processors, which Intel patched back in 2024, but if you were affected and didn’t download the patch in time, your CPU may be permanently damaged. This issue can cause crashes with high load applications, like video games. You can read more about the issue here[en.wikipedia.org] and download a diagnostic tool here[www.intel.com] to see if your PC has this issue. 

• Double grind glitches are harder to perform.

• The Green Machine title is missing from the inventory after being claimed.

• Seasonal Challenges on Isle of Grom's map are displaying the wrong icon.

  • Workaround: Restarting skate sometimes fixes all or some of the icons.

• When travelling as a party to the Isle of Grom, if the party leader has a menu open while the timer is ticking, the timer will get stuck at 0.

  • Workaround: Canceling the queue will resolve this issue.

• Rarely when players enter the Store tutorial, the Social Menu accidentally opens instead, and the controller becomes briefly unresponsive.

• The My favorites playlist starts playing songs that are not on the playlist.

• Contact force wipeouts are not triggering correctly.

• Offboard bounce pad boosts are not triggering sometimes.

• Hippy Jump landing will sometimes not land successfully.

• Landing in a Boardslide after a Darkslide is not registering consistently. 

• Rolling off the edge of a building can cause wipeouts.

• Unstuck behaviour can automatically trigger without stick input.

• Dropped skateboards will not roll down slopes as expected.

• Late flip tricks on flat ground are missing the Late points modifier.

• Drop ins will sometimes cause you to runout.

• A character can sometimes get stuck in a collision during a Stunt Challenges.

• Titles in Legacy skate.Pass are missing thumbnails.

• Persistent badging issues on multiple features.

• Owned product items in a Product Box are not greyed out in the UI as intended.

• Community Park timers are missing the day indicator.

• Tasks do not progress after rollover until the player opens the Task Menu.

  • Workaround: Open the Task Menu after logging in.

• Big Billboard goal in the Large Barge OTL can not be completed.

• The Week 4 Manual task is incorrectly translated as Grind in other languages. 

• After purchasing multiple SVB packs in succession, an error appears during checkout.

• The game sometimes crashes when a fourth player joins your Party.

• Adjusting your video settings on PC can cause other settings to change.

• After accepting a skate. party invite via Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, the invite reappears after the player is already in the party they were invited to.

• Spin degrees in the trick feed are sometimes inaccurate.

• Graphical glitches are present in the UI on PCs using AMD GPUs.

  • Workaround - AMD: 

    • Go to AMD's driver site[www.amd.com] and find your graphics card from the "Search or Browse Drivers" section.

    • Click on "Previous Versions" and download the one labeled "Adrenalin 25.12.1."

    • Download and Run the AMD Cleanup Utility[www.amd.com].

    • Reboot, and then run the Adrenalin 25.12.1 installer.

    • Reboot again and launch the game.

• Character texture flickers when the Pipe Dream challenge starts.

• Neighborhood Progress appears reset and previously opened product boxes appear locked.

  • Workaround: Press Windows + R on your keyboard > Type: %localappdata% > Press Enter > Find the skate folder %localappdata%\\skate\\ > Delete or rename the folder. (Rename the folder if you have saved replays or screenshots).

• Activity count on Isle of Grom zone entrance menu shows incorrect total amount of completed challenges.

• Player cannot grind on the rails of the Stadium parking entrance.

• Flags on Isle of Grom have collision making it hard to skate.

• Coffin Air 540 in the Waterworks OTL Challenge often fails to register the goal as completed.

• Players often don't receive notifications for completing and progressing tasks.

Things are about to get a little dark over on the Isle of Grom…

We know y’all have been wanting and waiting for Nike SB to get in the game, and we have heard you wishing for night skating, so we are stoked to announce that Nike SB is popping up and taking over the Barge skatepark on Grom…at night.

There is a new lighting set-up for the whole island and a ton of sick new obstacles in the park.

Nike SB has lined the barge with a fresh set of tasks and challenges. You’ll be chasing challenges like highest total score, stacking up grind distance across rails, ledges and coping and trying to nail some sweet 3-piece lines. 

Complete the Nike SB tasks to unlock a set of gear: Nike SB Dunk Highs, a matching black pair of socks, and a sticker for your deck.

If you’re looking to go deeper, the in-game store is fully stocked for the event. Nike SB has dropped a full lineup - footwear, tops, headwear, and accessories - for you to find your fit.

And the best part? It is open to everyone. No skate.Premium Pass or Rip Chips required during the event. Just jump on the San Van Water Taxi and barge it up.

The Nike SB takeover lasts until May 5, and Grom stays dark until June 2. Come get some!
