First things first - we know that big air itch has been scratched with S.U.M.R. Camp, and we’re stoked to announce the opening of our new Hedgemont Street Park, Parry Point Skatepark.

Near the upper Hedgemont seawall, the SVCC completed construction of the Parry Point Skatepark. Inspired by iconic real-life locations, this spot is dedicated to street-style skating, packed with authentic hubbas, rails, and ledge setups for San Vanners seeking a realistic session. 

It’s a perfect spot to film some tricks, drop a Spot Battle or Skate Jam, and get some ocean breeze while tearing it up.

The team has worked with the city arboreal crew to spruce up (get it? Spruce, like a tree?) the foliage in the trees around San Van. This is an ongoing initiative to upgrade the world's environments, and kicking off with San Van. 

City Councilor Slappy is missing! Work with fellow SVCC Member Izzy to uncover where Slappy went  - and why - across 6 Weeks of Activities in this all-new story event at S.U.M.R. Camp.

• Weeks 1-3 became available with update 32.0, unlocking progressively each week (i.e., Sept 8th, 15th, and 22nd) when players complete the previous week. If you haven’t yet started the “Have You Seen Him?” story, you’ll be able to jump in with 0.32.5. 

• Weeks 4-6 arrive with Nov 3, with a new story mission each week for three weeks.

• Players must have access to S.U.M.R. Camp to unlock the event, but it persists all season long, so it will be playable for all players once S.U.M.R. Camp enters General Access on Oct 6, 2026.

  • The event will not be available after Season 5 - so make sure you hop in and see what happens each week!

• Find out what happened to Slappy in the second part of “Have You Seen Him?” to close out the season.

A quick reminder - S.U.M.R. Camp is now in General Access with The Stadium and The Isle of Grom. For skate.Premium Pass members, you still have unlimited access to all three areas, and for non-skate.Premium Pass players, you can access the locations via Rip Chips.

Camp for 500 Rip Chips (earnable through completing Challenges and Bounties). Unlimited access to The Stadium for Season 5 is also a benefit of the skate.Premium Pass, or you can get a 24-hour Day Pass for 250 Rip Chips. Isle of Grom will be General Access (skate.Premium Pass or 500 Rip Chips for a Day Pass) from Sept 8 to Oct 13, closed to prepare for an in-game event for a week, Open Access (no skate.Premium Pass or Rip Chips required) from Oct 20 to Nov 3, and then will return to General Access from Nov 3 to Dec 1. 

We are dropping a limited-time technical test of our all-new Proximity Voice Chat system. This feature brings real-time, position-based voice comms straight to the session, letting you talk to anyone in your immediate vicinity.

To keep network performance dialed and the audio crisp, this initial test is strictly gated to the Isle of Grom map, kicking off on Oct 21, 2026. Dive in, team up, and let's see how it handles under pressure.

• Dynamic Spatial Audio Rendering:

  • Implemented a real-time acoustic model. Voice volume, panning, and frequency response now dynamically adjust based on your exact distance and relative speed.

  • Integrated environmental occlusion and reflection. Audio signals will now realistically muffle, echo, or bounce when obstructed by physical obstacles, terrain, or structures—whether you're hitting a line behind a massive concrete wall or shredding a deep bowl.

• Smart Prioritization Soundscape:

  • Added a dynamic prioritization algorithm to manage high-density sessions. When the park gets packed, and everyone's talking at once, the engine automatically prioritizes audio channels based on social connection strength (Party Members > Friends > Longest Continuous Proximity).

  • Dynamic culling has been implemented to automatically mute background voice channels once the local player limit is exceeded, keeping audio clutter to a minimum.

• Accessibility & Control Interfaces:

  • Integrated a Text-to-Speech (TTS) system, allowing text inputs to be read aloud as voice comms in real time, is something we’re working on for the full release in 0.33.

  • Added Quick-Toggle Mic keybinds and UI controls, giving you instant, split-second control over your microphone state via the Comms wheel.

  • Proximity Voice Chat is restricted to players who have unlocked Hedgemont Level 2 or higher to lock out throwaway accounts and ban-evaders.

• Moderation:

  • We are also testing and working on moderation features,  so play nice. 

As this is a test, it’s important to share your feedback - what works, what doesn’t, what needs improvement, so please let us know. 

Coming Oct 13, 2026, update 0.32.5 will have fixes, improvements, and tweaks, and we’ll have those patch notes for you to dive into on Oct 12, 2026. 

No Comply Improvements

No Complies have been completely rebuilt to feel infinitely smoother, introducing a raw Straight No Comply alongside updated FS/BS variations, fakie mods, and twin right-stick gesture options (direct diagonal flick or a popped Shuv-It scoop) to match your personal style.

The team dialed in the physics so you can now pop a No Comply straight into a Dark Catch/Darkslide line, cleverly reusing the heavy lifting done for ground-based Footplants and Fastplants to keep your movements looking clean and natural. The team also worked to improve inputs and to code smart-queuing logic so you can finally bust No Complies on vert ramps and transitions (even though you can't push on walls).

The playlist keeps growing! There are 19 new tracks hitting the San Van airwaves for the mid-season. Here are a few of them:

We sat down with Lance (Sr. Gameplay Software Engineer) and Alex (Sr. Technical Gameplay Animator) to ask them a few questions about the technical hurdles, creative breakthroughs, and pure skater passion that went into the improvements of No Complies to feel buttery-smooth, ultra-responsive, and ready for your next sesh. The changes are hitting San Van with 0.32.5 on Oct 13, 2026. 

The No Comply is a unique trick because you have to plant a foot on the ground. How did you get the input timing to feel snappy and responsive without making it too easy for newcomers or too frustrating for OG players?

• Lance: We like to think about what it feels like to learn a trick on a real skateboard, meaning the practice, the initial misses, and the final satisfaction. The No Comply input is unusual; your right thumb has to move quickly from a front-foot push on a face button to the right stick. We stuck to our control metaphors: pushing to take a foot off, then hopping and flicking the stick for an ollie motion. We also upgraded the right stick so players can pick their No Comply direction (frontside or backside) using the same input as a board scoop or shove.

• Alex: In terms of timing, as long as your foot is still on the ground after the push, you can trigger the No Comply. We expanded the window from what is currently in the live build to give players more time.

• Lance: Specifically, the input window is just under half a second (about 30 frames or less) to get your thumb from the face button to the right stick. It makes the trick feel much more reliable and fixes previous issues where the input wouldn't trigger correctly.

In real-life skating, everything builds off the ollie. When you were improving No-Complies, were there existing game mechanics you were able to "hijack" to make the movement smoother?

• Alex: Yes, this was heavily based on the footplant mechanics.

• Lance: Exactly. We leveraged the foundational work we did earlier this year on footplants, bonelesses, and fastplants. Even though a No Comply isn't exactly the same as a fastplant, the physics of taking one foot off the board to hop over slopes, terrain, and ramps are very similar. Building on that foundation made this evolution much easier, and we even added improvements that will feed back into fastplants.

• Alex: It’s a very similar interaction with the ground and environment rather than just the skateboard.

We know you can’t normally push on vert ramps, but a No Comply requires a push to start. How did you get No-Complies to work on quarter pipes and bowls?

• Lance: We knew we wanted them to work in vert because doing a No Comply to coping or into a vert air is incredibly fun. We created an exception rule: if the game detects the full No Comply input, it bypasses the "no-pushing-on-vert" restriction, opens the gate, and queues the entire push-to-No Comply sequence smoothly.

The community is going crazy over the No Comply-to-Dark Catch combination. How did that physics combination come together?

• Alex: It started with one of our animators, Percy, who was working on No Comply animations and thought a transition to a Dark Catch would look cool. He built a prototype animation, it looked great, and we put it in the game. From a physics perspective, the No Comply pops you up, moves you into a Dark Catch state, and from there, the existing regular dark-slide physics systems take over naturally.

What are your thoughts on expanding this further? Could we see a No Comply Laser Flip or a No Comply Underflip?

• Alex: We are always open to adding new stuff, but this requires a lot of effort on the animation side, and we have to evaluate what makes the most sense. 

• Lance: To clarify, when you go into the No Comply Dark Catch, you can do four variations of dark flips out of it (kickflips, heelflips, and body shoves). So, in a way, you get a "light" version of a No Comply flip trick if you are quick with your inputs. While we love No Comply flips, we aren't currently targeting them. We hope the massive expansions we just added give players plenty of room to get creative.

With standard tricks, players manually spin with their bodies. With No-Complies, the 180-degree spin is baked into the animation itself, landing you in fakie. How did you stop this animation-driven spin from clashing with player control autonomy?

• Alex: You can still add spin to it, allowing you to do 360s, but the base 180 is fully animated.

• Lance: We track your skater's spin in the air as a persistent value, modified by the left stick. Even though the No Comply spin is baked in, we feed that momentum into our air-spin mechanics. If you spin with the momentum, you spin further (like a 360). If you spin against it, you experience a slower momentum reversal.

• Alex: This is the first trick of its kind in the game where the animation itself does the spin and puts you into fakie for you. It was a unicorn of a mechanic and quite tricky to program, but we are incredibly happy with how consistent it feels.

Can you tell us more about the new Straight No Comply?

• Lance: For a long time, we had a very buried, accidental version of a straight No Comply that players discovered via curb hops. We wanted to properly support it. Now we have three distinct variations (Frontside, Backside, and Straight) that you can easily select with the right stick, topped off by the Dark Catch functionality.

• Some Players are unable to export in MP4 Format.

  • Workaround PC ONLY: Using WebM format when exporting works.

  • Workaround on Xbox: Go to your Xbox Dashboard> Settings> Captures. Check that the setting says "Captures by Me and Games," not just "Captures by Me."

• Changing the graphics preset doesn’t update the settings shown at the bottom of the Graphics screen as it should.

• Tailslides and Noseslides are not correctly detected when approaching a ledge from its end.

• Wallride detection often causes the skater to flip unnaturally.

• The Smith-to-Tailslide task often fails to register when performed correctly.

• Quick Ollie/Nollie into No-Foot Grab results in leg clipping on the board.

• Some flip trick animations appear different in the Replay Editor when done by other skaters.

• Some specific landing animations make the skater's upper body snap upright immediately.

• Game intermittently fails to enter Quick Drop mode from the radial menu

  • Workaround: Hold the D-Pad Left to enter Quick Drop mode.

• Switch or nollie 360 inward heelflip rotates the skater if PS5 power saving is enabled.

  • Workaround: Disable Power Saver for skate.

• Skater spawns off-board, and camera tracking freezes when resetting the Session Marker set at a ledge in drop-in position.

• Skater accelerates on a specific circular brick planter after landing a grind or slide trick.

• Rarely does the title crash when you select San Vansterdam at the Ferry Terminal in SUMR Camp. 

• Mini stutters are present while traversing the map on Xbox One. 

• skate.Pass shortcut does not work when opening the Bounties menu from the D-Pad. 

• The parental restriction on console communication doesn't affect in-game settings or functionality. 

• When the field of view is set above 90, LOD causes aggressive texture changes each time the skater switches from onboard to offboard. 

• Gen 4 console users can get stuck on loading screens, while Gen 5 console and PC users frequently use co-op travels. 

• The prompt received after being kicked states that users don't have access to San Vansterdam, rather than the location they attempted to enter without access. 

• Block Party UI fails to appear when spawning inside an active Block Party. 

• Borderless full-screen mode accidentally uses the last resolution set by the Full Screen resolution setting. 

• Skater performs a double revert when attempting to perform a single revert at the apex of a ramp.

• Bounties sometimes appear blank, showing a white box instead of text.

• The Endless Bounties section is empty after daily rollover.

• An unspecified error occurred when trying to reroll endless bounties twice in a row without leaving the menu.

• Various issues with progressing Challenge-based Crew Bounties.

• Some accounts are unable to see challenges in Gullcrest and Market Mile that should have been unlocked at Rank 1.

• M-Corp Offices Fast Travel point overlaps with Gift Graffiti collectible.

• Board and clothing textures may appear low-resolution for some PC players.

• Tier 3 SVLocs Crew Bounty "Earn Score in the Parkade in Gullcrest Village" doesn't specify Parkade in Portuguese.

• Some store items keep appearing as new/unseen with the yellow dot.

• Bounty Reward icons sometimes display as an X instead of the correct currency icons.

• Some challenge objectives do not display when a party leader pulls a player from a Block Party into a co-op challenge.

• Pinned Endless Bounties occasionally become unpinned when completed.

• Some players cannot claim Tier 10 Crew Bounty rewards.
