pretty repulsive in a lot of ways; a showcase of 2010 era nerd culture throughout a mostly uninspired cover shooter. it's clear that this was originally a gears of war-like shooter before it was made first person—on harder difficulties especially you're going to be hiding behind a lot of walls and rubble. this is fine for the linear shootouts but later in the game there are some combat arenas which are an absolute pain with all the invisible walls and no jump button. the most insulting thing is that you are reduced to three weapons during the whole game... until you finish it in which you unlock a new mode that lets you have them all equipped. why not just throw this in to the normal game with the remaster.

but when caught in a deluge of very good, stripped backed indie shooters and competent triple a releases as we are now, sometimes its fun to go back and play some stupid trash. the guns are all pretty fun to shoot—except for the woeful assault rifle—and the scoring/leash stuff is a decent gimmick. a quick burst of vile writing and mediocre gameplay that's ultimately fun to breeze through and gawk at.
