Early Access Review
Assetto Corsa EVO so far has been a somewhat lacking simulator with Physics that are still being refined, car sounds which are some of the worst on offer, online racing which offers nothing that isn't done better elsewhere, a restrictive and prohibitively expensive server hosting system, and no sandbox to speak off.

What made ACE worth considering was the future Kunos were offering for this sim and their credibility for having delivered the original Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione. Now Kunos have decided that it's in their interest to chase the saturated market of competitive sim racing rather than deliver on the promises that sold their bare bones, early access title, or recognise what people were pining after when the original Assetto Corsa became the most successful game in the history of sim racing.

The response is indicative; There is already plenty available on the market for people's ranked simracing needs, including Kuno's own Assetto Corsa Competizone, which is at the moment a far more competent simulator that ACE. Marketing your product on the vison so many share, of a career mode with deeply integrated progression and a freeroam that is more than just a sandbox and is full of challenges to overcome and discoveries to find, only to abandon your vision before even delivering the first part of the freeroam is cowardly.

when cheaters aren't a factor, this game is the exemplary competitive FPS. Movement and shooting mechanics are stable, functional, and above all responsive, whilst providing a limitless skill ceiling that ensures that CS2 is an excellent outlet for improving your skills and progressing towards mastery.

The meta and mechanics remaining as stable as they do is a rare sight for the genre but is perhaps the most major contributor to why counter-strike is such a rewarding outlet for moment to moment gameplay, improvement, and mastery. (when approached with a healthy mindset, which can be difficult or impossible for some to maintain)

For me personally, who is at an intermediate level of skill; The shooting mechanics of CS2 manage to be an engaging, satisfying, and at times extremely difficult system and yet never feeling like an unfair, or insurmountable, obstacle. The movement mechanics have surprising depth without intimidating or overly punishing new or intermediate players busy grappling with the shooting mechanics. Maps and especially utility is where the game makes available the full extent of potential skill growth through theory and knowledge. Where the other aspects of the game are largely tried to the mechanical ability of the player, maps and utility largely reverses this and is the main factor which makes or breaks performances at higher levels of play.

Counter-Strike can be a frustrating mix of reliance on teammates and reliance on yourself, the game ensures that your performance has an impact and in order to win games against opponents of similar skill you must be able to lean on teamwork. This means for many, the game can be tilting through the failings of the self or your teammates, but if you are able to develop an environment where you're able to lean on your team and develop your skills in conjunction with them, then you will more often than not reap the rewards of satisfaction and hard earned achievement that counter-strike has to offer.

This game deserves your attention and time. Get your friends to play and put the effort into figuring out the systems, it won't take too long but there's so much depth to explore in the mechanics.

The sound, and theme of this game is second to none and never fails to be evocative. The art design is outstanding, it's gritty and dark but not ugly.

Game play wise the submarines are made to feel immersive deep and the oceans are made to feel punishing and vast. you will fail again and again but failure is a part of the fun in this game.

This is a sim that is in general very realistic; the multiplayer is done via the community made server with a built in server browser making it very user friendly and high population; the graphics aren't the best in racing sims but is far better than iracing, the VR support looks and feels brilliant and even if the graphics and or weather options aren't up to your standards the community have made it very easy to mod the game in any way that you like; dlc is numerous and well priced meaning you can get exactly want you want or need at a very good price.

Free to play done correctly is the first thing I want to say about this game, not pay to win it is pay to skip the grind and buy cosmetics and you don't even need to pay to get the premium currency just trade.
The game play while sometimes too grindy it can a blast and can be anywhere from challenging to a cake walk. The complexity of the game for me is a plus however the mechanics of the game are simply not given proper introduction and are very difficult to get a hang of. The game presents you with many play styles with different Warframes, mods and weapons at your disposal. The community as far as I have seen is very helpful and the developers create the game out of labor of love.
This game isn't for everyone and I don't think it ever will be but if you feel the need to try it my advice is don't spend money until you love the game, don't be afraid to ask for help and the game takes time to play and enjoy.

Contols like a standard shooter other than c and q menus. Alone this game is mostly pointless, it's just a sandbox version of the half-life engine (which is cool but not enough) however the game is called Garry's MOD. The game is at its best when you play with friends and with many fun mods created by the community, hell even rollplay is not only possible but fun. So before you buy this just make sure to get a couple friends to buy it, or just buy it for them.
