The devs completely fumbled the launch by having an Epic Online Services requirement, locking the player into an infinite loading screen as it's currently completely broken.
Singleplayer/steam co-op players can negate it by unlinking their Epic account from steam or just mucking with the INI files.

But since I have friends who own it on Epic that I wish to co-op with this issue still plagues me as I've been unable to play the game for almost 2 weeks with basically zero communication/acknowledgement from the devs.
Practically 90% of my playtime is me sat in the menu after trying various fixes.

An actual catastrophe that feels like it was rushed out the door when the exclusivity deal was over with 0 testing.
Avoid unless you intend to solo or play steam-only co-op.

A loving remaster adding content from console versions while also subtly improving the maps, visuals, enemy AI and moveset in a way that freshens up the gameplay even after multiple play-throughs.
Genuinely even better of a remake than Q1's, filled with QoL changes and extra goodies like found concept art and the like.

God bless Nightdive, please don't stop.

Early Access Review
Battlefield if it saw squad and had an identity crisis

Tries hard to look 'realistic' in presentation but in reality it's some of squad's mechanics thrown into a battlefield-esque conquest setting where people throw themselves like lemmings at objectives with little regard for life until it's captured.
Expecting an actual fan successor to BF like it's been advertised and hyped by the community it was very jarring to load into for my first match.

Massively imbalanced weapons make AR-less classes basically useless. That being said there's very few non AR-weapons anyway and devs won't add shotguns which was always a playstyle in battlefield. Not a lot of variety even for an EA launch.

WASD simulator with no control over your attacks; you spend all your playtime running away rather than actually fighting anything and hoping the auto-attack graces you enough to target the enemy practically smelling your arsehole instead of some freshly spawned one on the side of your screen.

The level-up upgrades/loot and extra characters to me were equally as underwhelming - more autoattacks so you run away to repeat the cycle. The game frequently dangles loot & money in front of you with the treasure chest pickup every minute or so using an unskippable slot machine that felt like a shameless attempt at a dopamine trap and left a sour taste in my mouth.

Feel like I played a completely different product than what people are saying it is. Don't understand the hype.

Been waiting since the sage 2019 demo for this game, and it was 100% worth the wait.

For me, personally it's among the best platformers out there and a hand-crafted love letter to fans of the genre -
Fun bosses that are challenging but not complete pushovers accompany each floor of the tower, giving genuine milestones and a feeling of progression upon completion.
Each level sporting it's own unique gimmick or gag to the frantic OST that had me crawling back for more; you're spoiled for variety.
Said levels also have secrets that count towards completion and getting those coveted high-scores, I love the feeling of breaking through a wall and running face-first into a secret area.
The dev did a great job at conveying how expressive and fluid the characters are, especially the player character Peppino with small details that really help sell their personality.

The adrenaline you feel rushing through a level for the first time during the escape sequence; your entrance now blocked as you have to find an alternate route, constantly fluctuating between the mood of 'where the hell do I go?!' and 'yeah, I got this' as you sprint through rooms dodging obstacles at mach 3 whilst the OST blasts into your eardrums is addicting.

Those are just a few of the things makes Pizza Tower great and one of the few games I wish I could experience fresh.
You like 2D platformers? Give it a go.

The only game I've seen where the devs have removed the tutorial, instead leaving you with vague directions and nothing else.
I'm all for the 'go figure it out' approach but it's done with the least amount of effort from the devs here - being frustrating and overwhelming by lacking any reward other than even more stuff to pile onto you with 0 explanation.

The UI and subsequent controls are also terrible, moving objects around with the mouse also moves your camera ect.

Played it for an hour with friends before I had enough.

A fun little game that focuses on trench warfare in various fronts of the First World War.

The core gamemode isn't too far off Battlefield 1's 'frontlines'; where the two opposing factions struggle over valuable ground, pushing back the other team upon success.

As a defender, you must stand your ground against groups of rushing soldiers, shelling, the occasional grenade and mustard gas. Your gasmask has a lengthy equip animation and the lens obstruct your vision.

Upon successfully defending your trench from the onslaught, the enemy is pushed back and roles are reversed; you must run across no-man's land and attempt to overrun your enemy, ducking and diving between shell holes, trenches and redoubts praying you don't get hit by a stray bullet or artillery shell.

My issues with the game is that the player base is rather small, with servers filling only during peak times. Missing players however are substituted by bots.
The movement can feel stiff at times, most noticeably when running or trying to deploy your gun as the squad's machine gunner.

Other than that I personally think it's very much worth the asking price, doubly so during a sale.
