this review stands at a 9/10 with a few of my own gripes / issues ( i know its early access and that its an indie dev this review is subject to change in time as with the game)

main issues:
so the game itself is immaculate. the progression is steady the grind and placement doesn't matter massively but will play part heavily towards late game. as for the performance it needs more optimisation and or a graphics setting. i run a 4060ti with an I9 9th gen and im getting 30fps on 3x speed 45 on 2x speed and 60 on normal speed when my tavern has more than 30 customers ( i know how this sounds but let me explain) (before any mentioned about my specs i get nearly 200 fps on games like BF6 and around the same on Borderlands 4)

once you hit 2.5 star rating u have maxed out / finished your tavern till later updates in 2026!
now if 2.5 stars bring in 30 customers imagine the performance drop at 3/4 stars with around 30 or more customers including the groups you allow in its asking for a disaster not even mentioning the fact that events like fires chaos and story books also dip performance.

there is no slider or scale to lower graphical settings too witch is a shame.

(im not including my staff in the fact as they are mandatory)

the other main killer for me is the stars are capped at 2.5 out of 5 stars in game. i get that there is a road map and its early access for a reason but having what i would summarise as a unfinished state of play.
before we get an major update in any where between 5 months to 8 months time when Q2 of 2026 brings us "delving with dwarfs" level dlc (assuming there is no delays) leaves roughly around 20h play time before you finish the game and end up wanting more witch inherently i'snt bad but leaves no room for re-play-ability unless you like making a lot of assets (blueprints) witch cant be used due to the performance issues.

over all putting aside my opinion/ gripes with the large time between a major update and release plus performance issues i would 100% support this indie dev team.

you can feel their passion behind this game there creativity and it seeps through the screen with every action you take having a possible positive and negative with the odd chance you luck out with a skill check

the narrator is amazing his wit and jokes make you smile while the game gives a cozzy relaxed atmosphere

the unlock for skins / blueprints from the developers is also cool and rewarding
