First Game: tried to hit a zombie with a bat, missed & was bitten. Carried on for two days which including a fever dream in a farm house and a overland hike to the next town, where the bite finally converted me to one of the many locals.

Second game: custom settings, started a safe house in a quiet neighborhood, got bored and put some metal in a microwave. set fire to that house, the next house, and eventually the rest of said neighborhood. tried to put blaze out, ended up just pouring water on the ground. corpse burnt, supplies burnt, and my fully stocked fridge burnt.

Third game: Rick Grimes S1E2 downtown Atlanta run. Ran back for the bag full of guns, went to center of town and exacted my vengeance. Took a tour of the police station, became trapped in the locker room with little ammo and no room to kite. Tried to change my neck wound bandage, but it was an arterial bleed, so I became an untainted feast for the first shamblers to breach the door.

Fourth game: Made a second, more patient run at the police station, retreated in the face of a hundred walking corpses, tried to make a stop at the pharmacy to take something from the ordeal. Found a vehicle I had in a "former life", but it was the former life that had the keys to the getaway- where I just had the keys to my own violent dismemberment and evisceration.

I expect many more stories of small victories and moments in the face of certain death and misery, but after all- This is how you die.

Absolutely everything that could be improved has been in this REmake- story, mechanics, weapons, voice acting, level design... It has been delivered upon. If I had one complaint to make, it's that "The Mercenaries", "Separate Ways", and "Assignment Ada" Extra content is not included with the base game & unlocked upon completion like in 2005 original. While Capcom has stated so far that Separate Ways will come as a later DLC, it's still that cash grab that is allowed to slide in today's gaming market.

For everyone that complained about the RE3 REmake being too short: this is your fix. You're looking at around 20-25 hours for an enjoyed, "see it all" play-through or your first run, and between 4-10 hours on subsequent runs, depending on your skill level.

-- Post-3.140 Freelancer Update --

Freelancer Mode brings the kick in the ♥♥♥♥ you kept coming back for from the first Elusive Contracts- amplified to give you no mission restarts, save scumming, or best prepared kit and tools to enable you to complete the contract.

Every contract in Freelancer Mode will have you second guessing whether or not you actually can blast your way out of getting caught hiding a body, or opting to simply restart when your plan to execute a target falls apart. Location mastery and knowledge are essential to not wasting your time and efforts in Freelancer Mode, so burn in those reps on Story Mode and learn the locations well.

Freelancer Mode is EVERYTHING the Hitman series needed to take that next great step, and provided the 'Always Online' connectivity requirement doesn't impact the experience and progression by unintentionally punishing players with sub-optimal internet connections, and the progression promises more than a really big house, we're getting to enjoy something equal parts enjoyable and tilt-inducing, with a layer or replay ability that stands to last much longer than the challenges and mastery features introduced in Hitman: Absolution.

Cheers to the future of Hitman: World of Assassination & don't forget about the stethoscope/discount fiber wire in the Infirmity!

READ:
-Rock solid gameplay elements.
-Linear gameplay that hardly every actually feels linear.
-Graphics threshold that could give modern titles a run for their money.
-Fantastic voice work.
-Amon Tobin soundtrack that is still exceptional.
-Sam Fisher and the Splinter Cell series as a whole at its apogee.

Arguably the single most polished example of a game, probably forever. Stab, shoot, and fling anything with a pulse off of whatever you can throw them off of, or simply not exist in pursuit of perfectionalist ghost runs where you touch no one and alert no one- pushing for that 100% on Expert all the while. The only excuse you should have for not playing this masterpiece is if you were too young at the time it came out to play it, or simply didn't know about it. This game simply cannot be overhyped for what it was at the time it released. Nearly perfect and still enjoyable 15+ years later.

While there may be a couple of texture clipping & appearance bugs witness throughout, it should detract minimally from this otherwise fantastic game. The ONLY complaint I can really lodge against SCCT is that I can't seem to stream it or record it without it crashing, and that might be more my setup than the game itself.

Can't be overstated how enjoyable this timeless classic of a game is- they simply don't make them like this anymore.

AI retardation be damned- this game is the ideal game to get with a friend, and operate like it's the early 2000s.

This ♥♥♥♥ is wild and tricky to get the hang of- but you should definitely buy it.

The storyline is a bit over the top, but I would be excited af to see either a movie or television series based on some of the elements in this game. The sequel is even more fun to play, but not so feasible of a concept for such an adaptation.

Buy it, play it, store it, break it out for, if nothing else- a sick ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soundtrack.

Early Access Review
Top-down turn-based close quarters battle simulator that allows you to plan and execute raids in a John Madden-esque drawing of plays- or in this case, direct every movement, angle of attack, sightline, weapons and equipment deployment, engagement... hell, even the reloads and weapon changes can be planned in the pursuit of the fastest, cleanest, most efficient raid you can pull off. Highly enjoyable, and even a valuable teaching tool for those unfamiliar with the subject.

With the clunky analog stick aiming gone, Zombie African Genocide Simulator is much more enjoyable to play.

It's Resident Evil 4 (also known as Spanish Zombie Genocide Simulator or Spanish Flu Cure 2.0)- whether you like it, hate it, or are sick of seeing it- it is still enjoyable.

While there are a few outlying textures void of the HD facelift, the game still looks pretty good on a modern system. The biggest plus if you enjoyed RE4 is of course the use of mouse and keyboard, which makes this game significantly simpler. Gone away is the cumbersomeness of analog stick aiming- however, character movement is still exactly as it was.

Probably (and hopefully- unless completely redone in the RE7 item management system) the last remaster of this title you should need to own, and worth at least 2-3 playthroughs, especially with the Handcannon & PRL-412 significantly easier to achieve, this is also relatively easy to attain all achievements for.

Get it, play it, put it away, and come back to it if you need a time (or zombie) killer.
