A movie like experience, only the movie part, because this is hardly an interactive piece of media. Experiencing this in VR is nice if we were back in the early 2010's, today VR has made great strides and a bit of creative freedom with the source material could have been appreciated trying at least to be more like an graphic adventures, and you can pull horror in that genre (example: I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream)

Maybe i'm being too rude, but doing a one-o-one adaptation is not good, regardless of the selected medium: TV, Movie, etc. if you want to experience the true faithful experience of Dagon, read the short story. the ambiance and production of this ride is good, but it's not what i call a interactive piece of media and hardly a videogame and i don't blame them, adapting Lovecraft to any medium is difficult as ♥♥♥♥.

Where to begin?

Half-Life, one of the heavy hitters of the unforgettable year of 1998 and consider one of the best FPS of all time.

A solid FPS that brings you encounters full of suspense when strategy is the key to survive and the game gives you a wide arsenal in order deal with the creatures of the borderworld and the forces of you own world. this, and combined with a real-time first person narrative that never take the control away of you and relies on direct player interaction and exposition instead of excessive amounts of text, dialogue, or cutscenes. making a immersive videogame and not a glorified CGI animated film with yes or not prompts like all modern games.

The multiplayer side is really fun and engaging, it doesn't see much activity like decades ago, but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

The modding scene is pretty active up to this day, one of the good decision that Valve made it right was the mod support, in other to have an idea of how important is HL modding scene, it bring to us a little game called Counter-Strike and other mods such as Afraid of Monsters and Cry of Fear, Sven Co-op, and the list goes on. there's a ton of mod you should check out.

Valve released this game at the right place and the right moment. the rapid evolution of PC hardware, the adoption of the internet and consequently, the creation of communities, ease of distributing content, and massive online multiplayer, a standardized control scheme (WASD + Mouse) What Quake gave the world, Half-Life took it and went further.

it's impact cannot be underestimated, it is true that most parts of Half-Life didn't age well like the NPC, the blue-balling difficulty (when you play it on Hard), the visual presentation, the final chapters, but all this negatives points never took away it's genius, it's a classic! one of those games that you should play at least once regardless if you are more of modern videogames or a Retro enthusiast.

I highly recommend this game.

Well, there's no much to say. it's Quake's Deathmatch but in Half-Life (GoldSrc) little bit slower, but fun to play. sadly, not much alive.

The last good entry in the series

Saints Row 2 is a giant step up from everything in the original game. While the original game was a game that was based on the formula popularized by Rockstar and the Grand Theft Auto series that was lucky enough to stand out for its capabilities in the area of customization and the technical section being an Xbox 360 title. Saints Row 2 does everything the original game did but ten times better and this time it stands out as its own game. The secondary activities are more diverse and fun, the story is more developed and this time it goes better with the game, the characters are charismatic and memorable, especially the Saints themselves and the rival gangs, the customization, the playable mechanics, everything is an improvement of what was proposed in the original game, something that the next entries and specially the reboot didn't get right and, as a personal opinion, this game is a better modern open-word crime game than Grand Theft Auto IV and V.

But if this game is good as hell why i'm giving it a bad review?: this is the worst PC port of a game i ever played.

This game on PC is unplayable in a lot of parts, gamebreaking bugs, awful performance, a lot of crashes, bad controls and no controller support, lacks the DLC that are only available on consoles, neither using Gentlemen of the Row and DXVK make it playable. unless Volition manage to finally release the free patch they promised before the Saints Row Reboot don't kill Volition first i cannot recommend this game on PC.

UPDATE: Volition is dead, the reboot (and a corporate restructuring) killed it. lose all your hopes. Emulation is the only way to play the full game on 60 fps

This is, so far, the best First Person Shooter of all time! Dusk starts as a standard classic FPS with your typical enemies and weapons but then Dusk subverted it and creates a wonderful and original gameplay that gives you hours of fun. special mention to the endless mode.

You need to play this game now!

Let's see: the game it's not the problem, not at all, the problem is that it's a very poor quality remaster. it's just the original game but with just a few visual upgrades on certain models like the Big Daddy Bouncer's lenses and slightly different illumination but it still the same game with the same sound mix and physics bugs and a DRM/Spyware layer (2K Games Launcher)

Just play the original version.

One of the best Spaghetti-Western FPS on the market, highly replayable, excellent and satisfactory gunplay and i love the one-o-one gun duels and the over the top art direction. maybe does't have the drama, story complexity, and connections to the previous Call of Juarez games (aside from a reference in the collectibles) but this game is enjoyable as hell, definitely worth it to spend a fistful of dollars on this game!

A whole new way to play the original Half-Life, tons of skins, weapons, maps all that powered by the GoldSrc modding community.

It's fun to play, but the majority of servers are empty and sometimes the players are not exactly cooperative so play with some friends.

Unless you are able to stand the technical issues, the lack of quality standards when choosing community content, unbalance gameplay, hackers and bots roaming free i can't recommend this game to anyone right now.

Try some of the mods like Open Fortress and Team Fortress 2 Classic, if you find players.
