THIS GAME IS SO GOOD, BETTER THAN DEATHMATCH SOURCE AND HL2 DEATHMATCH. ALSO WHERE THAT ONE SOLDIER GUN CALLED THE ORIGINAL MAYBE CAME FROM MAYBE. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH.

Nah, this ain't it chief. I might just not like deathmatch type games, but I didn't really enjoy my time with this one.

1. There is a wide spread of weapons, most of which I never wanted to use because the rocket launcher was better in every conceivable way.
2. This led to the goal of every new game being to find the rocket launcher, the big medkit, and the red armor, and then endlessly loop between them, which got kind of boring fast.
3. Most of the maps were either way too big or way too small, leading to either long stretches without seeing a soul or respawning and instantly dying four or five times before I got lucky and got a spawn away from everyone else.
4. The maps are oddly confusing. I cannot put my finger on why, but I felt like I never got a 100% clear picture of where I was going. I think it's because of most maps being made out of the same stone texture, with a little wood thrown in for variety.
5. It is cumbersome to switch weapons to the specific one you want, as this game uses a half-life-esque number menus. It is also difficult to remember which weapon correspond to which number.
6. Normally, when you pick up a weapon which is "better" on the number menu, you automaticly switch to that weapon. However, the game consistently failed to do this, leading to frustration.
7. Despite coming out after Quake, this game has no crouch button and no rocket jumping.
8. The slippery fast GoldSource movement feels way too fast for a pvp game.
9. The servers are dead. The number of people I encountered in my ten hours of playtime is easily in the single digits.

Yeah, this one just didn't click with me. I'll try some other deathmatch games and see if it's this game or simply the type of game that I really dislike.
