Very interesting RTS-Resource Management hybrid.
Managing a moving base (train) is a interesting concept, RTS is decent.
BUT:
Squad hotkeys for skills are hard to unify, sometimes your units with the same four skills set can have different hotkey for skills.
Minor crashes, 2 or 3 in my full 13 hours playthrough.
Class balance, all RTS content can be steamrolled with a squad of 10 scouts.

Devs are fickle in weapon balance, every patch is bond to break something else. (Example: Arc weapon, mech rocket)
VERY slow to address critical bugs, player feedbacks, play-testing feels non existent.
Toxic community with host kick feature being abused.
Patch is slow and weapon balance is ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Battlepass is glorified DLC with extra grind.
Garbage server with connection issues.
Dev actively working against players.

A fair game with decent presentation.
Despite how it might look, there's only a small amount of horror elements in this game.
There are noticeable exposition dumps which can hamper story pacing.
The story length is not very long, took me 8 hours to clear.

Despite the story being quite mid, the gameplay and visual made up for that and more.
Some of the best boss fights I've seen in recent years, plenty of characters to choose from, and very good music like the original mobile game.

Outstanding 2D action game with great gameplay, fair choice of soundtracks, and outstanding stories.

Bad game, wait for sale.

-Few weapon variations, most of them look really ugly.
-Tiny loadout, supporting only 4 trinket and 2 skills.
-Swapping weapon offhand is a chore.
-UI is impossible to navigate, especially in dialogue wheels.
-4 main maps to play around, which is not a lot even with the day/night variations.
-Invasion camping
-Mediocre story
-The game progression is very linear
-Overpriced for the content
-Limited interaction with NPCs, it's like FO76 with only audio logs.

I've done 2 complete play-through, once with auto-crusade on, once on normal.

DO NOT USE AUTO-CRUSADE, it breaks your game and makes your life miserable. Some quest can't be progressed, you lose out on teleport feature from city building, and you can't turn it off. Use the auto-resolve from top bar instead.

The game itself is very buggy, with consistent performance issues. The game performs fine at first, but after a few hours of play, frame-rates can drop to 20-30. This is especially prevalent in larger maps or cities. Apart from the performance issue, the game itself is quite buggy, there are game breaking bugs like unable to exit map, can't pull out the Esc menu, boulder trap not working, and etc. Some requires you to restart the game, or even reload previous saves.

The crusade mode is a combination of the city management from the previous Pathfinder game and the army combat from HoMM. The city management part is slightly better than the previous game, but the newly added army system is boring and shallow.

The story is decent up until Chapter 3, then it's all downhill from there. You can feel it being way less polished, and much more buggy. It's like DOS 2's Arx City, but worse. The shifting Abyss map sounds fun in concept, but is a nightmare to navigate, I got stuck in midair twice, and had to reload a save. The final battle feels extremely rushed, cut-scenes missing soundtracks, dead people coming back to life, and more. The epilogue is a joke, companions are not mentioned at all, and all the big name bosses simple nopes out their deaths, no credit scene, and changes back to main menu right after final scene.

The gameplay punishes you for not meta-gaming, enemies spam spells that have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ range that are impossible to dodge in tight spaces, backline members constantly getting wiped instantly, unfair ambushes that melts your dps, and THAT Polar Midnight spell.

Don't buy it and expect a 10/10, or even a 9/10. It's better than Kingmaker in existing features (but not much), but made worse in the new additions. Buy it if you are suffering from content drought, and reallly, REALLY likes CRPG.

PS. Overused villain motive is overused.
