I've been wanting to buy Kindred Spirits since it was announced because it was about girls loving girls. The art was beautiful, the song was catchy, and I loved the trailer. I expected it to be good, of course, but I never expected it to be as good as it actually is.

Kindred Spirits on the Roof follows Yuna, an extremely considerate girl who, due to some circumstances, started avoiding people. This changes completely, however, after she starts seeing two ghosts - or, as they prefer being called, kindred spirits - on the rooftop of her school. Since she's the only one capable of seeing them, they quickly ask for her help to pass on: They want her to help the girls in her school who love others girls to be able to confess their love and start a relationship! - A yuritopia. So, Yuna embarks on this not so easy task.

This game is so good it's actually pretty hard to point out all good things in it. I mean, I can't just say "everything", can I? But, yes, it's pretty much that. There are plenty of characters and romance for you to see developing, and ALL the characters are completely unique. Their personalities and hobbies are different, and you feel like they are all real people. Something that really caught my attention was also that, besides seeing Yuna version of things, you also get the opportunity to see these other girls sides on things. This make such a big difference - and also make you fall in love with absolutely all of them.

Kindred Spirits has only a few choices - which don't matter, they only unlock some secret scenes. What does it mean, then? That it is basically a kinectic visual novel. Now, this is something that might've put me off if I knew it before playing the game, but man, they do a kinectic visual novel WELL. Since the story is super interesting, you get caught in it fast, and the calendar let's you follow different girls in different days, in the order you want, which makes it feels like you're actually making choices and actively playing. I basically pay no mind that this is a kinectic visual novel. I don't even REALIZE it is. This is how great this game is.

The romance is also the forte in the game. We have many couples and each of them have different chemistry, way to deal with things and all that. It feels very real to see their love blossoming. Of course, I have some couples that I love way more than others - how could I not? - but, in general, I pretty much love all of them. The game makes a good job on making some mysterious stuff for you to slowly find out during the storyline, which makes you crave for more and makes it hard to close the game.

Simply put, Kindred Spirits is a really, really good game. Romance and light novel fans will love it, and everyone who likes a good story will too.
